Which is crazier, hearing voices from a dog telling you to kill people in parked cars
or hearing the voice of god telling you to become President?

David Berkowitz heard his neighbor's dog as it told him to carry out his will and kill people in parked cars. He in turn followed the guidance of the voice and shot people in the head with a .44 magnum until the police found him and locked him away.

Michele, Rick, Newt, and others claim to have heard not a dog but god tell them to run for President so they can carry out his will. These people are either suffering from mental illness or are full of shit, catering to a clutch of people who believe divine hallucination is a proper pedigree to run this country. That, in my book, makes them just as crazy if not more than those who claim to hear the voices.

This is what we are up against folks, so let's not pretend that it won't be a crazy year until the next election. Stay safe, and let's hope there are enough sane voters to counter the mentally weak.

1. It's becomes a carny sideshow
These assholes know they'll never do anything to actually produce change in any meaningful way so it's just about babbling on some with twisted ideology.

2. Good point. I don't recall President Obama ever saying that God spoke to him.
Sure, he said he prays, but personal messages from God or Jesus? Never.

Those fuckers are either lying or insane. I can't sort them out.

4. That's easy - dogs provably exist

So if someone is hearing the voices without the dogs, they are clearly one more step over the line.

5. George Bush* said that God told him to invade Iraq.
If he's telling this freak show to run for president, he either isn't giving very good advice, these days, or he really, really doesn't like us... :evilfrown:

6. Its pretty obvious
If this was 60 years ago and someone told someone else that God was telling them to run for president, then they would have been committed pretty fast.

But we're up against a party of fucking lunatics and i hope to God they do not get elected because that will be it for the USA.

7. it's obvious it's one of two things because god couldn't have chosen ALL of them.
either 'god' is just pretending they are his favorite or they are all lying.... i am going to go with the latter.

8. 'Two men say they're Jesus; one of them must be wrong'
Edited on Fri Aug-12-11 05:55 AM by pokerfan

And I go down to speaker's corner, I'm a thunderstruck
They got free speech, tourists, police in trucks
Two men say they're Jesus, one of them must be wrong
There's a protest singer, he's singing a protest song, he says

They wanna have a war to keep their factories
They wanna have a war to keep us on our knees
They wanna have a war to stop us buying Japanese
They wanna have a war to stop industrial disease

They're pointing out the enemy to keep you deaf and blind
They wanna sap your energy, incarcerate your mind
Give you Rule Brittania, gassy beer, page three
Two weeks in Espania and Sunday striptease

11. Berkowitz made it up
Edited on Fri Aug-12-11 05:59 AM by Prophet 451
He admitted during an interview with John Douglas (as part of VICAP) that he'd invented the whole thing in an attempt to cop an insanity plea.

For most of the politicians, I suspect the same thing is true (although it's possible that one or two are genuinely disturbed).

The last guy who thought God told him to become President killed hundreds of thousands.

16. Sam Harris, Letter to a Christian Nation:
“The president of the United States has claimed, on more than one occasion, to be in dialogue with God. If he said that he was talking to God through his hairdryer, this would precipitate a national emergency. I fail to see how the addition of a hairdryer makes the claim more ridiculous or offensive.”

19. God likes us better.
That's why he/she/it/* keeps telling so many Rs to run for the same offices at the same time. He/She/It/* likes to watch them fight with each other and to carry guns while doing so.

Either that or he's fuckin' with all these idiots. Kind of like Mom telling all the kids, "don't tell the others but you're my favorite."

The GOP is a big ol' steamin' pile of stupid.
