1. A very sad couple of thoughts.
That little girl came into this world during one terrorist act and left this world due to another.

She never knew a pre-September 11th America. She never knew what America used to be before 9/11. On this point, none of the kids born since 9/11/2001 know what America was like before that day. They do not know how much better it was before that day. They do not know the America most of us grew up in. They do not know freedom and civil liberties. They have never experienced the American that once was.

And this little girl will never grow up to see the day we finally put the extreme paranoia of post 9/11 America behind us. She'll never get to see better days that might come in the future.

3. Few us us will live to see that day, I think. The RW transfiormation of the nation is too far gone
too sophisticated, too calibrated and, of course, our clueless Democratic "Leadership" is too captured and coopted by it.

Face it. This is Weimar 1930. Obama is our Hans Breuning. Don't be fooled because the methodology has been updated for 21st Century America, much less violent and requiring massive PR plausible deniability. Don't be fooled because most of the Nazi-like activities the RW engages in happens in the cyber-world or economically instead of in bloody violence, except in still rare occasions like Loughner.

Because whatever is coming at the end of the transformation, no more than 20 years out, I'd guess, is going to be an oppressive barbarous place that may well end up matching the Nazis for overall evil, even if they lag behind them in person one-on-one in your face brutal physical evil.

I THINK this time, our Bushies will not be as blatantly openly murderous by 2030.

Bu I make no promise. No one can truly foresee where this transformation is going to end.

4. Yes Tom. a group of Auschwitz survivors
said much the same to me in the 90s.
Basically I mentioned the extreme xtian right one day when pat robberson or foolwell one or the the other was exhorting that something or other was punishment for letting fags run loose and have rights.
An elderly woman said "this is how it starts and we will see political murder in the next 15 yrs or so and it will go down hill from there".
There were several others also in front of the apt building waiting for the greengrocer who used to come by from the veggie fields, the conversation tuned to politics and religious nuts and were in agreement. I had several other conversations with some of these folks and one of my great uncles was a survivor of Buchenwald kamp, none of his family were spared and he came to the US on one of the refugee childrens flights.

There were about 30 Survivors that lived in the building.
That is of course a condensed version. I cannot recall all that was said mostly the gist. This was in 1994 95. I wish I had kept notes. I was very sick at the time I am a long term hiv survivor and spent most of my days connected to an IV. As ill and drawn as I was at that time I much resembled the undernourished of the kamps.

2. That second one pretty much sums it up. The truth is so hard to bear.
I hope that the adults learn something about what a political system should be.

5. When I see cartoon, I think funny, not deep
These are painfully deep and not funny. As it should be, given the violence it looks at.
