I wouldn't celebrate what happened in Wisconsin yesterday
Basically, because a celebration in itself would be pointless and distracting.

Things like celebrations also have a way of allowing people to rest on their laurels. That's not a good thing to do given that more recalls are needed in Wisconsin and other states, like here in Michigan, in the near future. Lot's of work to do do still.

I'll celebrate when all those GOP Koch-head fucks are out of office and we get of democracy back

1. Yeah, but after MONTHS of these folks being out in the streets
I would think it would be a tad more demoralizing to tell them that it was all for naught and chalk it up as a net loss.

YMMV, MrS

2. particularly when they just got away with stealing elections
now they are even more empowered. They have been stealing elections since at least 2000 as far as I know, and it has never been easier. Now they have perfected their technique and since we can't prove election fraud (and neither can anyone prove the elections were fair)...we're shit out of luck.

One only need look at the number of people that show up to know the tea party popularity is a media created farce

Who thinks this tea party really won that many seats in Congress?

3. Should Have Waited til 2012
Now all that money gone and King is just coming right up for reelection 12 months after defeating someone the right wanted out of that district.

9. Yeah, they wanted Hopper out so bad they almost re-elected him.
There's a point in your post somewhere, but I'm not seeing it. :eyes:

4. I'm not going to mourn it, either
Remember, Alberta Darling was trailing until they got to the most intensely corrupt county in the state, the one where exit pollsters were blocked from doing their jobs. If that doesn't scream "THEFT!" what does?

That race is going to have to grind through the courts and perhaps we can get more of the corrupt officials into prison.

But as long as the party as a whole doesn't take election theft seriously, this is how it's all going to have to be fought: one district at a time, through the courts.

No need getting emotional about it al all.

I'm all for ice cold logic and analysis at this point

5. I would. Not celebrating the wins is how you suffer burn-out.
Far more deadly to a cause or party or whatever, than a small distraction.

Ideally, you have in place those who will pickup from this point and carry it forward so those who've worked so hard can take a breath and celebrate before returning and pounding out the next victory.

7. Well it is party night at the WH, so I guess they do not agree, eh?
Celebration is never pointless. The people there worked hard, won two seats, and it is they who should be celebrated, and who should celebrate.
And again, the corks never stop popping at the WH, the vacations go on, fun is had. You must find all of that indefensible if you think regular voters might 'rest on their laurels' you must steam to see a President kick back or go golfing with so much yet to do.
Seriously, man, burning out is not helpful to anyone. I'm glad the President golfs, I'm glad Wisconsin is celebrating.

8. Well, I don't live in Wisconsin. But....
because of those tireless boots on the ground efforts, day after day, unflinching, unfailing, knocking on doors, making phone calls, talking and talking and talking with voters --

Here's to you, Wisconsin Dems! Thanks to your effort and phenomenal example, two senate districts REFUSED TO BE BOUGHT. That is huge. Thank you!

But, that's just me.
