Crowd Turns Rowdy at Boehner's Ohio Office

WEST CHESTER, Ohio, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Staff members at the Ohio office of Speaker of the House John Boehner say they locked the office doors when a protest by union groups and others got rowdy.

About 125 protesters showed up at the Republican congressman's West Chester office Tuesday and wanted to send two protesters inside to talk to staff members, who locked the doors when confronted by the angry crowd, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

One protester reportedly kicked at the door several times.

Union officials said hundreds of people would rally to insist Boehner address the question of jobs for people in his district.

No arrests were made, police said.

Boehner was not at the office during the incident as he was taking part in a fundraising golf event in Dublin, Ohio, the Enquirer reported.

1. They should have planned the rally for the golf course
Thursday afternoon? Show up and give the Captains of Industry an idea of what the proles are thinking these days.

They might get upset with their little heaven disrupted.

7. Yanno, that really isn't a bad idea.
Wasn't it George Carlin that had the bit about taking over the golf courses and building houses for the homeless?

:D

2. Does Boehner do much else than play golf and.....gasp......fundraise?
and the GOP complains about the President's fundraising and started campaigning "early" for 2012. :eyes: :puke:

3. Probably the most excitement West Chester cops have seen in decades.
One of the wealthiest suburbs in Cincinnati - I doubt the cops do much more than write tickets and chase away the occasional black person who stumbles in by mistake.

14. Remember who was doing the description
of the crowd. Their agenda is to make all union people into "thugs". Note that the article does say that they just wanted to send in 2 to talk.

13. This sounds like the repubs plans to make
union members sound like thugs. They pretend to be so afraid and lock the doors when the union guys were asking to send in 2 reps to speak to them about jobs. Just like Bachmann freaking out when two women tried to talk to her in the restroom.

I noticed in my local paper all the tps writing in and every single letter refers to "union thugs" so it's a campaign. Also in local paper, they reported that the tps were canceling a gig because of threats from "union thugs" to the restaurant were they were holding it. The owner of the restaurant called into the paper and was reported as saying he wanted to make it clear, the tps were lying, there were no threats. He canceled their booking because they misrepresented what the gig was going to be. They told him it would be a quiet meeting, when in fact, they were planning a rally, inside his restaurant.

We'll being hearing that phrase and seeing any union protest or rally as being "unruly" or "noisy", "rowdy" or whatever they think sounds thuggish.
