3. Their products sell
Even when you can't afford to buy anything else, you still have to buy soap.

4. I enjoyed the final phase of that trial. The P&G lawyer asked for a large sum in damages.

He used the expression "ridiculous lies" to describe the defendant's claims.

The company owns an extremely diverse set of brands. They could survive on DuraCell alone. Or Pampers.

6. It makes money
Edited on Mon Aug-08-11 10:08 AM by AngryAmish
Last week I cashed out (stockwise). My theory is to then buy solid dividend producers (P & G, McDonalds) or a high yield fund. I think bad times are coming but companies like P &G always make money. People need soap, no?

If I bet wrong, at least the dividends will be there.

I am not alone in this thinking.

Plus people gotta get rid of US debt (trustholders and the like). P & G still has AAA.

on edit: Do not listen to me about how to make money in the stock market. Beyond the fundamentals (diversify, dollar cost averaging) everyone is either ignorant or a fraud if they can tell you how to predict the stock market.

7. Their products are consumables. People use up their
supply and then buy more.
