| 1. One country uses force, whether military, economic, or political |

to control another country. The slave nation has lost their sovereignty. Normally the easiest way is to use traitors in place to assist the conquerors, usually under the guise of "assistance" to the slaves.

| 2. Here is a start. Sovereignty when most people are talking |

about it in general refers Country"s supreme control over itself. No other country can interfere in the affairs of a country.
Conservatives in the past have been very big on Sovereignty issues. This was the basis for a lot of conservatives(ordinary rank and file conservatives) being uncomfortable with the UN.
Oh from time to time you will here bring up some notion of UN wanting the world to pay a tax which could be used for UN missions. We are soverein nation. We will not take orders from any Group like the U.N. There are lotsa Americans who are more insular in their thinking. We take care of our own, the other countries do the same. "Leave Us Alones"
Reality Globalization, Trade Deals have the world interconnected. and I am sure we will begin to hear more about protecting our soverignty.
It will surprise me for the Sov. Issue to be raised about the Debt Limit.
In a globalized world very complex relationships develop between countries. The Sovereignty Police may be out and about.

Sanctions levied by member states of the UN against "sovereign" nations who refuse to go along with international dictat, sometimes expanding to multinational war against that belligerent nation-state. This is used most frequently when the nation has resources some major private industry wants to exploit. And even more frequently the wars are then paid for by people living in the invading nations who objected to the invasions.
But probably the best examples are the IMF and the WTO. What so-called sovereign nation escapes their rule-making?

| 14. Sovereignty exists only insofar as it can be defended. |
|
If taking your sovereignty is too dangerous and expensive to be worth the effort you have it; if not. . .
