5. True - but I was worried about the market and the narrative from
the media unfairly damaging Obama and the Party.

10. Agree. The last thing we needed today was a drop in jobs.
:hi:

4. Net Growth +117,000
Good but not great, loses in governmental employment pulled the numbers down. Takes +120,000 a month to maintain the status quo. How often have we reached that plateau in the past two years. Unemployment drops to 9.1% based on the number of people who fell off the list for any number of reasons.

6. Indeed
Treading water, as I just saw in a tweet. Better than what they expected though, which is something (at this point we have to be satisfied with small blessings :-()

12. Which means we lost jobs
as it takes 125,000 jobs per month just to keep up with population growth. You'll have to forgive me for not jumping up and down with joy and optimism.

7. Not exactly kickass,
More like "Didn't Suck", which apparently the market will take ;)

8. Futures are short lived unfortunately
It will give a temporary bump and hopefully stem this current slide (which I can't figure out the cause or timing). Any blood letting will occur if the jobs report going into December is slack vs summer jobs reports. I would like to see a strong one going into November as holiday job hiring heats up. If it is disappointing or doesn't carry enough going into that time period, especially with cuts, we may be in a tough time in the 1st quarter of 2012.

9. Overall, this is a fairly good jobs report.
It's not phenomenal, but it's a step in the right direction. It shows there still is hope for Obama and the economy.

11. Since there was no revenue in the debt package and only massive cuts...
I wonder how good the report will be in a couple of months? :(

13. Closer to "doesn't sucK" than "kicked ass", and before you get too enthused...
...remember that number can get revised in the next few months, after more thorough data analysis.

15. Wow--that many new McDonalds and Dollar Stores opened up?
I guess the demand for dirt-cheap is growing fast.
