the left was demonized by lumping all of us into one group where Kazynski, the Weather Underground, and every other fringe group are comrades in a world wide Socialist movement. The right built themselves up as the heroes and made everyone else the villains wearing the same stupid black hat.

When crafting a message, the eschew any hint of complexity.

Anytime any group hyper simplifies the other side to fit under a neat sound-bite, they are doing the same thing.
