DU Family: Can we please nurture and encourage our own on this?
I realized today that I have not received a call from OFA in a few days (pre debt deal) asking for a donation. When it hit me, I thought "Well, that's a good thing, I would have told them *something rude* and hung up. I am glad they have not called (at least while I am in this mood).

Can we please, please remember that we are disappointed with our President and not the volunteers on the other end of the phone? After coming off the 2010 elections in Missouri, I vowed that I personally will never make calls again. AND I WILL NOT.

It's shitty mundane work, we all know it. We all hate it, its time for new generations to earn their stripes. Let's try to keep them lifted up and not take out our frustrations on them. We need them and it looks like we are going to need them desperately the 15 months. It was so hard to fill my phone banks to max last year, let's please, please not make it any harder.

They (our volunteers) need our encouragement. Our elected politicians can find their own.

1. There's never a good reason to be rude to a worker on the phone.
And volunteers should generally be treated with the same respect. Maybe not Young Republcans or something, but most.

3. I've done a lot of those calls for my congressman for the past two elections.
I've gotten told off and hung up on, and these were supposed to be supporters. *sigh* But the few that have a question you can answer to their satisfaction or express support and wish you good luck do make it worthwhile. :)
