The problem with racism in the workplace is Barack Obama is part of the workplace
I asked a question on this board a few weeks ago about whether race was a factor in how impossible the republicans are making it for president Obama being effecting as a President and most people said, "NO" they did not think it was a factor. I believe it was then and I still do believe it is and I know there is a lot of information, studies, our there that prove it. Just because the man is Leader of the free world does not mean his color is not noticed.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released in December 2006, stated that “most Americans, White and Black, see racism as a lingering problem in the United States.” CNN also used as a consultant University of Connecticut professor Jack Dovidio, who has researched racism for 30 years, according to his website. He estimated that approximately 80 percent of White Americans have racist feelings they may not recognize.

<snip>

Great point here:

"Mr. Law stated that “We all know that racism is real, but the real discussion should be centered around the question, ‘What is wrong with White folks?’ Why is it necessary for them to continue to look for White advantage, after decades—no, centuries—of White privilege?”

“Why is it that Whites are still racist—still using race as a tool—anything else is a bogus discussion,” Mr. Law stressed. He also added that CNN isn’t talking about anything that is real, but rather what we get from them are tricks."

<snip> Just to let everyone know that time will not necessarily heal the problem:

"There are other reports that observers say reflect a racist trend. On Feb. 1, the federal office of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission released a report stating that federal job discrimination complaints by workers against private employers rose in 2006 for the first time in four years. Allegations of racial discrimination rose 35 percent with over 27,000 charges. “These figures tell us that discrimination remains a persistent problem in the 21st century workplace,” stated an official of the EEOC."

1. Those who say no, are looking through a pair of rose-colored glasses. What
do we think drives the tea-baggers?

2. Why don't we give racism it's proper designation: a mental illness.

3. It is one factor, I believe. Of course Republicans have serious
problems with any President who is not Republican.
It appears at times they think they are entitled to
the Presidency. Bill Clinton was treated pretty badly
and I believe a lot of it was because he was a Democrat.
Think back --it was pretty nasty. Obama is a Democrat
and black.

Obama just has to slug back at them.

4. I agreer with you but that takes away the racism part and I think that is
good to call it what it is?

If these teabaggers get a hold of the next elections we can say good-bye to Obama. It will be like 2000 all over again.

5. He's also half white. Why do they concentrate on the Black half?
That proves they are racist. They never mention he's also white.

Stupid is as stupid does.

6. Sure it is. It's why the tea party is loony. It's why hate group membership
is up. But don't overlook Murdoch's contributions.
