Has anybody here watched "Current TV" lately?
I've been watching it today and I'm quite impressed. Its' improved quite a bit since its' inception. You may or may not know this, but Al Gore is the chairman of Current and his editorial moments on the channel are quite forceful. (No more Mr. Nice Guy). I'll be wathcing "An Inconvenient Truth" tonight on that channel. I just finished watching a documentary about how Philip Morris and other cigarette companies are addicting young people (and I mean young; school kids) by selling them one at a time so the kids can afford them. The population there knows little about the health risks involved and the cigarette companies are trying to keep it that way. The documentary was filmed in Indonesia.

2. The PodCast concept burned out ...
it was a great idea, but it burned out too fast; basing all programming around was cool, but people get bored of doing them.

They should bring it back, but in a limited format.

3. Yes. I watch it every day because Keith Oberman is on at 7:00 CT! Then I sometimes catch
the Vanguard programs. I saw that baby smoking Vanguard program. Really, really good. They are VERY well done. I remembered Current TV as homemade videos that viewers sent in about current affair issues-of-the-day kind of stuff. The Network has definitely changed for the better! Adding KO was BRILLIANT on Gore's part. :)

5. Yes, we love Current! Really high-quality documentaries.
The ones about the easy availability of oxycodone in Florida and about the American jihadi in Somalia were fantastic.

6. Yes. The documentaries after KO's show are "must see"
I did need to turn off the tv during the doc about the lack of sanitation systems around the world. When the host puked his guts out I bailed. It was too graphic for me. But it just goes to show how they work to be accurate.

7. Had it all along but I never watched until Olbermann came on
And I've left it on after his show once or twice and the documentaries they show are well done.

I'm really not much of a TV watcher but I'll definitely tune in Current from time to time.

8. Yes, I do
trouble is, they need more programming. So much repeats week after week. They need to add some more shows? and a weekend show like msnbc is doing with Chris Hayes.

9. Yes, I'm watching and they are building as they go, I love it.
Chairman Gore and KO have something very special with amazing potential if they work really hard and continue to expand.

Advice: Go after the weekend market!!! Wide open potential, what are they going to compete with? Nada...Just do something new and different.

Additionally, I really really like the chime sound with the waiving Current TV flag with KO in the background. It's so fresh!

11. Yes, I didn't even know we had it until Keith went there.
Now we leave it on after his show and they do have some great documentaries. I hope they add some more programs now that they are getting more viewers.

14. I watched a show called "50 Documenntaries to See before you Die" lasat night
Very interesting. It's a series that's running this week with clips and discussion of various documentary films I didn't know about. Well, except for "Truth or Dare" which was included in last night's show, I had seen that one. Interesting discussions, too.

And I just can't stomach that thought.

17. Nope!
Keith should have changed his format, imo. Also not being in HD is liking watching through a VERY bad pair of glasses. Guests not half as good as before. Any GOPers on there yet? I mean, talking to Kos practically daily is getting old. Now that Anderson will be on at the same hour (fortunately on the left coast, we get the show at 5pm). Plus I've gotten to really appreciate Lawrence.

18. Yes. It's very high quality. Hopefully it only improves and doesn't go downhill and become
another lame stream channel.

I doubt that it will become another mainstream channel.

the UFO channels. "This American Life" comes on during the weekend.
