Tell President Obama that Bernie Sanders MUST be part of the Super Committee
http://www.petition2congress.com/4889/tell-president-obama-that-bernie-sanders-must-be-part-super-commi/

We, the undersigned, are requesting that Senator Bernie Sanders be part of the Super Committee. Bernie Sanders will fight for the Middle Class, for Social Security, for Medicare, for Medicaid.... He has earned the right and the respect of his constituents to be part of this Committee!

Among the members of this Super Committee there must be a real representative for Progressives, Democrats and Independents who at this time in our nation feel that have no real representation other than that of Senator Bernie Sanders.

7. Yep
But it is meaningless as he is not a member of the party and therefore ineligible.

16. He doesn't need to be a member of the party.
He's a member of the caucus... and the deal was that each caucus would send three members.

6. That isn't the law, that was comments from Boehner and McConnell.
They each get to pick 3 and they hinted that they won't consider people who didn't vote for the bill.

8. I don't like this 'super committee' idea at all. Too few people
with too much power. But since they're probably going to do it anyway, without public opinion being considered, we need Bernie on it.

15. He would not get a position anyway. This is a Conservative
Democratic Party.

Bernies beliefs do not fit a Conservative Ideology and
he knows. That is why he is an independent.

18. The president doesn't get to appoint anybody to the Super Committee
"Under the deal that Washington lawmakers have finally taken up, the majority and minority leaders from the House and Senate will each appoint three members to sit on the 12-member Joint Congressional Committee." http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/post/who-will-sit-on-the-supercommittee/2011/08/01/gIQAxqDXpI_blog.html

So Mitch McConnell gets to pick three from the Senate, John Boehner picks three from the House, Harry Reid picks three from the Senate, Nancy Pelosi picks three from the House.

I know you wish you could make Obama king of all this so you could criticize it. But sorry, if you want Bernie Sanders, write Harry Reid.
