We stand bare except for the truth...

They did not just hold our President hostage - they held all of us hostage.

They did not choose to go the democratic route. They did not want to vote on it in the House or Senate by normal rules. They chose to threaten.

They threatened to take our country over the brink. They threatened to hurt people.

They were only looking for an excuse to pull their hostage-taking. They chose the debt-ceiling bill, a procedure that had been only tokenly resisted since the first debt-ceiling bill in 1917.

They said "Give us what we want or we will destroy this country."

The President could have let them do that. But he chose to "negotiate" with them. Now the dance is over.

They wanted nothing that had a tax increase in it. Even after ten years of the most irresponsible and unneeded Bush taxcuts and huge deficits, they still see no need for revenues?

I guess they could plead guilty by reason of insanity? It is a treasonous act they have perpetrated upon the people. It is a grievous act.

In my opinion, we should not be so quick to jump on the President in this instance. The Republicans were not playing by normal rules. In fact, there were no rules.

We are all victims in this game. We don't understand the full price yet. But we will in time.

It was criminal. It was treasonous. All we can do is spread the truth as we see it...

1. We were pretty much screwed from the start

when there no attempt to get an increase when the tax cuts were extended that was it for us. I remember others saying we should be being doing it, but Ididn't worry I never thought the tea party go this far, in hindsight it was huge mistake. We had no leverage over them because they didn't give a damn if we crashed.

2. There isn't any debt forgiveness for saving the world from Iraq, Afghanistan

and Libya. For all that the citizens of the USA must now suffer for generations.

3. The neo-liberals and POTUS Obama are complicit in DC Kabuki

that harms the short and long term interests and security of the People of the USA.

POTUS Obama and the neo-liberal that infected the Democratic Party seem to be the best route for individuals to improve the USA but we are going incrementally ever faster backwards.

But the neo-liberal agenda is a wall to smash in our own house (and will also destroy the neo-conservative immoral economic and foreign policy trajectory of doom ).

The global wealthy and their lackeys see the USA as low hanging fruit.

We need to fix the Democratic Party and be secure in our principals of social justice and a sustainable society and environment.

4. Just my opinion, but...

I think if the Repubs try this extortion again, and they will, it will backfire on them like a stick of dynamite from Acme.

I think voters will blame the Repubs for this crisis and the President will be rewarded by the voters, even if he appeared weak and incompetent. He allowed himself to be put in a situation where he had no other options.
