Having such a limited number of ways to resolve issues is just exhausting. Its like playing the same stupid games over and over again and never getting what you really want.

Who are the REAL Democrats? For me its the Progressive Democrats. But we have less and less in common with the Corporate Democrats. Politically speaking we ARE two different political parties. When are we going to stop dancing around it and formally acknowledge it?

Edit: I guess two Democratic parties may end up being one of Obama's unplanned legacies.

1. Yes, two would be nice, preferably more.

2. More and term limits
These career politicians are so out of touch and feeling entitled it's disgusting.

3. The Corporate Democrats instead of "holding the center"
(between the two parties) have moved over and continuously
play on Republican Turf given the GOP the hometown advantage
and a win every time.

Seriously the Corporate Democrats have essentially become
Moderate Republicans whether they realize it or not. Therefore
the Far Right Policies do not seem so bad to them apparently.

4. We have two parties and what we're witnessing now is a corporate merger between them.
That's what this whole "super majority" bullshit is about.

5. YOU have to do things about something like that
Not just wait around and have already formed political parties presented to you.

6. Winner-take-all voting mechanics force a two-party system.
Everyone who wants something else should focus on changing voting mechanics. Nothing else will do it.

7. Instant runoff voting would get more good people to run too.

9. Absolutely. There are voting systems that do a better job of giving people what they want.
Our system has been tweaked for decades now to optimize the spoiler effect, and use it to force a joint corporate voice from both parties when necessary.

Some DUers actually celebrate the spoiler effect, and rejoice that people who try to get a more representative government by voting for it actually get the exact opposite.
