About a dozen religious leaders were arrested in the Capitol rotunda today after they refused to end their public prayers calling for “an equitable resolution to the debt ceiling debate,” according to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), which organized the protest. The leaders noted that default would be catastrophic, but current plans to raise the debt limit would still include “severe spending cuts to the programs and services that support the poorest and most vulnerable people living in the U.S. and around

6. Hopefully, we'll see a lot more of this in the next
few days. When churches and church officials get involved in civil disobedience, then things are REALLY starting to heat up.

7. Greed is a sin.
The Republicrats are trying to run your country into the ground with greed.

True churches can't stand it. I know as a Christian I can't stand the greed I see around me, and I beat myself up for almost falling into it.

As I said to my mother, the best way to re-tune our thinking is to do it gradually. We've been taught that greed is good. We need to start NOW with trying to un-program that from our minds and re-program it with something more sustainable, like "it's alright to have luxuries - but don't overindulge." or, "help someone - even with words." rather then "ME ME ME" as we are now.
