"Blank Check" - the LATEST Conservative Catchphrase Du Jour!
:eyes:

The only blank check being given is to the fire-a-thon CEOs, idiots. Every single day of the year their taxes aren't raised!

1. Here in Florida, we are besieged lately with political ads screaming about "Blank Checks" that the..
...DEMOCRATS have had for years and it's "Time to reign in these out-of-control spenders".

Where in the hell were these people at for 8 years ??

2. Same in Ohio, only it's against Sherrod Brown.

You know, one of the most progressive members of the Senate that consistently votes FOR the working people's interest (like, for instance, the paid actors in the commercial).

And every one of these commercials implies, as if it were factual, that ALL of our problems started on January 21st, 2009. "Something must've happened before that . .. I dunno . . . scary black guy in office." :eyes:

...the Democrats "want to raise taxes" ??..... implying that taxes are going to be raised on the poor working class),,,,NEVER saying
"Taxes on the rich"

Talk about lying through the back-door!

3. My husband was yelling at the teevee last night when Boehner said that.
He called him a few choice names and pointed out that that "orange bastard" was in Congress writing the blank check that got us into this mess to begin with, the one written to Bush during that administration. There needs to be some backlash against this term and a public reminder that Boehner was part of the congress that created the Bush deficit.

8. their intent was to stick US with it. as it always is. they bitch about tax and spend
liberals, but the dems always try to find where to get the money from before they spend money. the republicans don't bother worrying about that. they just put it on the credit card. they BORROW and spend. and they run up the debt. they say, deficits don't matter. then they scream about the deficit and make a big stink later when someone else is in charge of things. Even though they are the ones that ran up the bill.

It's like they stole their daddy's credit card and maxed it out and then when their Parent's come and complain about it and tell them how are you going to pay for this the kid says, it's YOUR credit card.... I am not going to pay your bills for you.

14. I look at 31 years of MIC Reaganomics, not just the past two.
If it's taught me anything, it's that once the Good Ol' Yew-Ess-Ay solidifies something, there's a very slim chance if any that the course is going to be changed.

I don't think I need to be constantly reminded that "voting" anymore means a choice between "slightly less Puritanical agenda" and "Rule by Old Testament", nothing more. Our government isn't even in charge of our government anymore.

I've been at anti-war rallies in D.C. four times in the past 10 years. Yet, between the Paulites and the "all-the-same"rs, the last one felt like being at a Tea-Birther rally, to be honest. Not many anti-corporate signs, which is where their anger SHOULD be directed. Corporations and the unsubstantiated greed of the wealthy are solely to blame for this mess.

17. LOL. That's not an obvious distinction you're making there.
I see an unbroken chain that spans directly into the present.

"Corporations and the unsubstantiated greed of the wealthy are solely to blame for this mess."

No way. Politicians of both parties are their "inside men".

11. Republicans simply churn out thier "notions" as to what the truth
is. And, unfortunately, far too many Americans don't even realize that they are being misled. nt

a ransomenote last night. THe GOP has taken the nation hostage and will kill it if the demands aren't met.

Boehner did it with lies and duplicity.
