Police arrest suspect in arson at Governor Dayton's former home in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS - Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in an arson fire early this month at a Minneapolis home once owned by Gov. Mark Dayton.

KSTP-TV reports ( http://bit.ly/pkFpeH) police found gas cans and grill lighters at the scene. KSTP says police were able to trace the items back to the suspect.

The man was in the Hennepin County Jail on Monday.

Dayton has not lived in the house on East Lake Harriet Boulevard for 20 years. Police have said it's not clear if Dayton's ties to the residence played a role in the arson.

The house was occupied at the time of the July 2 fire, but no one was seriously hurt.
