I AM going to comment of what happened tonight
It is 100% very easy to explain. John Boner has no clout with his own caucus and the 50 or so Teaparty Freshman are holding him hostage. He is a weak leader and has no idea what to do next. he wanted to see if the votes were there, they were not, he walked away from the table. Period.

He's the biggest waste of fucking space ever as Speaker of the House.

3. I think at night when he's put about 6-7 bourbons in his body
he wishes he was a simple member of Congress getting the perks without the responsibility. I believe he probably cries himself to sleep often.

2. he is also a hostage of Grover Norquist. Who the fuck is Grover Norquist?
He appears to be the man who can bring the US to its knees.
One last thing about Boehner. personally, i think he has some serious alcohol demons that don't help.

19. Who is behind GN? Is there something that is badly wounded by the Derivative Crash there who is
in danger of financial demise if this deal doesn't go their way? Are they THAT vulnerable to taxes? Boehner seemed to have NOOOOOOO options and he was previously billed as an effective deal maker. What happened and when?

30. That's part of what this whole thing has been about. It's PRIVATE information, so the President
can't just order someone to get it, plus there must be people around that hidden cadre who are dependent on them but not in charge, not decision makers, so you'd want to not hurt too many of them as you put pressure on their situation in order to find out who the leaders are and what their relationships are to the others and how bad the damage from the Derivative Crash is in that whole quarter.

VERY dicey stuff even when you're up against someone kind of limited like Boehner.

12. Read Boehner's statements. Paraphrasing: "Obama was not serious about making Fundamental Changes to
Entitlements"

In other words Boehner wanted Ryan Plan on steroids and he wasn't going to get it.

36. My elected Democrats still do. But they are vastly outnumbered and outspent.
The numbers in the last election from the Kovian influence peddlers in the last election were too close. It's appalling that so many lies and so much hatred against Democrats is seen as normal now.

Those who dare to speak up have their lives and their families threatened repeatedly for supporting these programs. I will continue to support my representatives, because they know and argue and vote for things that the GOP never will. There is a profound diference between them and the GOP program of eliminating the programs.

And my members are repeatedly outvoted, as they vote against wars, for healthcare and civil rights. I still have their back, but too many people have fallen into believing what the media says. All of it, not just FNN. We have no real voice since media consolidation.

I will not broadbrush the entire party as it is so easy to do.

14. Certain groups always profit in Depression. Obama has been acting like a human with monsters.
The problem is that we have NO voice in the media. If we did, if Obama did, there would be an enormous backlash built up by August 2nd to bring these pigs to heel.

The media that the GOP owns, will spin this game until after August 3rd, they're already calling state meetings to save the GOP will save SS, etc. The media will not tell the Democratic side of this to give Obama the mandate he needs to stop these crooks.

And Democrats have bought the lie, but what do we expect, really? We are awash in a sea of media distortion, paid for by the highest bidders and it's not about news, or even information. The media is nothing but a commercial, using dog whistles and distractions to keep people agitated and afraid and not thinking clearly.

The MOX NEWS videos posted here on DU showed that Obama is on top of this and has not changed his stance. But it was all delivered in the tenor of a thinking man, an intelligent man who is looking to all sides to make things work. But it won't get any respect due to the 24/7, wall-to-wall, viral, paid for media venues that will keep the distortion going.

We are drowning in an ocean of propaganda paid for by those we ask to inform us about the important events of our lives. We can hardly think straight, so I don't even get mad when I see Dems regurgitating the RW talking points. It's all FAR RW talking points, next to that, and faux left or democratic talkers to sucker us into listening to the entire package.

These bastards are molding our worlds as they mold our minds to think there is no other choice but to give into their manufactured despair and disrespect for our ideals and principles, until we are afraid to even utter them in public. Those voices who are strong and speak for us are silences, denied a platform to speak or shot.

I will be having a rough time these next few weeks. as we enter into another month of this nightmare they are wanting to inflict on us all. I won't buy their lies, their hatred of me and what I believe. I don't know who will win out. But I won't give in.

27. Huh? Doesn't that depend upon where you're standing? I personally know hundreds of people who are
involved and I don't mean just here on the DU and I do live in a very red state.

Do you go out to local activities any? Talk personally with friends and family ON THE ISSUES?

So defeated before you even get out of the gate . . . ! Do you know what self-fulfilling prophecy is? Please don't be offended, but I HOPE you will think about it just a little.
