...both are incompetent and unfit to run a major corporation. Otherwise, they're lying. I try to avoid black-or-white absolutes, but it's as simple as that. I see it as a double bind - neither is an absolving/flattering prospect, and both (should) have severe implications. Why isn't this made more clear?

This is basically what it comes down to for any of the loopy dipshits who have testified before Congress with the unaware/"amnesia" defense (Donald Rumsfeld, Enron execs, etc...). It's one of two things: they're either lying, or completely inept. They don't deserve to hold such high positions of power (in government or business), and they certainly don't deserve such staggering salaries.

belly up. I mean, it is sad at all the loss of jobs...but they can blame their employer for either being a)a total asshole willing to risk everything to push a righwing agenda, or b)a total asshole willing to risk everything to push his ego onto the world.

...dominance, and "end justifies the means" policies, you'll go down with their ship when their internal time bomb goes off.

Your post is spot on. On its face, the job loss would be sad, but Rupert is one evil motherfucker and they made a deal with the devil.

I remember Alberto Gonzales testfying before congress with all his "I don't recall" statements, and all I could think of was he was either a massive liar covering his own ass, or a completely incompetent nitwit. In either case he should have been kicked out of his position. The Murdoch Crime Gang are the same.
