Dupnik was over-the-top.
Here are some more measured and reasonable comments:

1. Rush Limbaugh: "I tell people don't kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus living fossils so we will never forget what these people stood for."

2. Senator Phil Gramm: "We're going to keep building the party until we're hunting Democrats with dogs."

3. Rep. James Hansen on Bill Clinton: Get rid of the guy. Impreach him, censure him, assassinate him."

4. John Derbyshire intimated in the National Review that because Chelsea Clinton had "the taint," she should "be killed."

5. Ann Coulter: "We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too."

6. Ann Coulter: "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building."

7. Bill O'Reilly: "ll those clowns over at the liberal radio network, we could incarcerate them immediately. Will you have that done, please? Send over the FBI and just put them in chains."

8. Clear Channel radio host Glenn Beck said he was "thinking about killing Michael Moore" and pondered whether "I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it," before concluding: "No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out -- is this wrong?"

98. Agreed. It's been more than a decade since I've heard such comments
Liberals and Democrats have been too timid to even state the facts.

My children were with me when the local news station aired a video clip of the Sheriff stating his thoughts in a mild manner. I am quite positive they've NEVER heard anyone criticize the "right" or and their talk show hosts.

Floored that the local station played the tape -- and didn't paraphrase or mute him.

going to ask another DUer to repost the list again because I was busy modding, but saw you re-posted it with a great title to connect it to current events, good job.

The extremists must continue to be called out on their hate and denial that we heard from Palin about it. We need to never forget the attacks on us - like the shooter who killed at the Universalist Unitarian church in Knoxville Tennessee, and said he wanted to "kill liberals who are ruining the country"

my 2008 thread had a few comments.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

Just some of the calls for violence against Democrats/Liberals, Gays, Pro-Choice, etc

Edited on Wed Aug-13-08 03:22 PM by themartyred

That's just SOME of the spewed filth of the hundreds of incidents where they've advocated violence towards liberals/Democrats, and these are just SOME of the better known repubs doing it - there's hundreds smaller swine of the GOP who've said the same.

There's plenty more of them out there, and even if you can just recall the discussion put it on this thread so we can see it as some people 100% don't believe this goes on, even people on this board.

Here's some other hate -

1. Mel Gibson on Frank Rich: "I want to kill him. I want his entrails on a stick. I want to kill his dog."

2. Fresno City Council Member Jerry Duncan in 2003 wrote in an email that police should "Cap" members of the Human Relations Commission and wrote, "If I had one dirty bomb and I could eliminate all the liberals in Fresno at once." When his comments became public, Duncan said "The response I have gotten from the public on this has been 100% supportive."

3. World Socialist newsletter about how "Republican Right prepares for violence"
http://www.wsws.org/articles/2000/nov2000/elec-n24.pdf

4. Shooter/Murderer wanted to "kill liberals who are ruining the country", had books of Hannity and other right wing GOPers who told they were doing such - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Knoxville_Unitarian_U ...

5. Right winger backer and often a TV guest, Ted Nugent calling for violence -

on him 24/7 saying he is over the top and needs to control his rhetoric what rhetoric,he simply said what has been going on for years, and has been over the top since a black person was voted in as President.

No matter how much they pretend to tone down their rhetoric we already know they are liars we have been watching this for years now, they are just afraid. Did they listen when we told them how they were putting a target on our President. They were really hoping it would be him and we have plenty of evidence to prove it..

A gunman kills and injures a crowd of people, including children, and they're worried about themselves. Why anyone would have any regard for what they have to say is beyond me. They are trash. I gave up on them a long time ago and only see them continue to sink deeper into their own shit day by day.

"This message is a thank you to Sheriff Dupnik. While I am extremely sorry for the terrible tragedy that has thrust you into media, I am grateful that you had the courage to speak plainly about why this shooting might have happened. The media is now spending time questioning your judgment around this. I say please do not be cowed by their stupidity. Keep speaking out. And thank you for again for standing up for reason and for what's right. And good luck in the difficult days ahead."

him. Someone on "another site" already suggested a flesh wound. :( The country has gone mad.

60. "Great" list - in a manner of speaking. I am sure that a much more comprehensive
list could be compiled. It should then be sent to every government security agency so the investigations can begin.

It will also come in handy during campaign season.

Palin: "don't retreat, instead- RELOAD!"

Jesse Kelly (Gifford's tea party opponent): "Get on target for Victory in November. Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office. Shoot a fully automatic M16 with Jesse Kelly."

Michael Savage: "Only vigilance and resistance to this baby dictator, Barack Hussein Obama, can prevent the Khmer Rouge from appearing in this country"

Erick Ericksson: "At what point do the people ... march down to their state legislator's house, pull him outside, and beat him to a bloody pulp?"

Sharron Angel: "If this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies."

Joyce Kaufman: "If ballots don't work, bullets will."

Michelle Bachmann: "Be armed and dangerous"

97. Some voices of reason on FaceBook's Right Wing Extremist And Proud
http://www.facebook.com/RightWingExtremistAndProud?v=wa...

Aaron Matheny:
I hope George Soros gets hit by a bus or gets cancer and dies real soon.... This guy is about the biggest Communist on the planet. Lead poisening would be too good for him.

Kirk Hamilton:
fucking communist i hate Obama's middle class hope mongering

Bryan Mondy:
Is it rude to call a homosexual a fag? Cause he just earned it.

Kevin Copeland:
Lets face reality, this man had no intention or desire to be an actual president. All he wanted was the to be the first BLACK president and all the pomp and circumstance liberals would give him for it, even though he has more white blood in him than jungle juice.

Dave Muehlenbein:
Nothing this un-white house has done is worth giggling about.

Rob Millette:
The way the Dems have been screwing this country over; that may be the only door they know. It's truly a shame we can't send them directly to jail where they belong for being traitors to this country.

Kayne Alexander:
Religion has no place in politics...except when discriminating against homos

Michael Gerardi :
There's good news and bad news about Tawana Sharpton's rally. The bad news: only 3000 showed up. The good news: three of them had jobs.

104. Palin's "surveyor marks" cowardice
Edited on Mon Jan-10-11 12:36 PM by Bernardo de La Paz
On Palin's Take Back the 20 Facebook page, where the targets are still displayed, is this text, emphasis added:

"<...> House members who voted in favor of Obamacare and represent districts that Senator John McCain and I carried during the 2008 election. <...> Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-8), <...>

Well aim for these races and many others. This is just the first salvo"

She announced it by tweeting the infamous "Don't retreat. Instead - RELOAD!"

Now her toadies are calling them "surveyor marks", unwilling to be responsible.

However, Palin herself called them "bullseyes" in November. Now she who wants to lead those who run off at the mouth constantly about "personal responsibility" is backpedaling as fast as she can.

Verb form: Dupniked, as in "looks like Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, et.al., have been totally dupniked."
