Anybody know: Does Google AdSense read your cookies?

This is weird: A few days ago I made a comment on here about alternate dosing methods for THC, in response to the government's assertion that they can't legalize Medical Marijuana because "smoked marijuana" is bad for you.

I had this weird theory that you could soak weed in horse liniment to extract the psychoactive ingredients then apply the horse liniment as a topical preparation. I went to Absorbine's website to look at the different horse liniments they make. Now two thirds of the banner ads I see on all the different websites are for Absorbine. I don't even WANT a horse!

2. Are other people getting ads for sex toys?

I don't mean to be discourteous and my purpose is not to shock.

But I posted a lot about the Anthony Weiner matter, and here I am quite "mature" and getting these totally inappropriate ads for products I would not, probably never and certainly not at my time in life, buy in a million years.

What a waste of ad money.

The Google method did work when I started getting ads for knitting websites -- but not here on DU.

4. It doesn't know what you write on DU. However, it does know

everything you search for. It can also track the sites you visit. So, your trip to the Absorbine site triggered those ads. Google has it's own tracking system. It cannot read what you post on DU.
