Ex-Aide Claims Congresswoman Jackson Lee Is Insensitive And Derogatory
HOUSTON, TX — Sheila Jackson Lee could be in some do-do. Is this a case of a back-talking hypocritical politician?

You decide!

Congresswoman Jackson Lee is being sued by a former aide who says she's not a true advocate for the disabled. Mona Floyd says the Congresswoman talks big-game when it comes to helping people with disabilities, but says she's actually insensitive and derogatory behind the scenes.

According to Floyd, who filed the suit and has vision impairment, the Congresswoman said things to her like "I don't give a damn about your disability."

1. Well, we need more evidence than that.
Also, did this aide leave the job voluntarily or get fired for cause?

It's pretty much a "she said-she said" thing at this stage.

3. She has a reputation for being abusive toward staff
This is well known in DC and numerous other ex-staffers have said the same thing.

4. Fair enough. But there's a difference between abusive towards staff in general
(which is also unacceptable, of course) and being specifically abusive or dismissive towards particular staffers based on things like disability.

5. But she is an equal opportunity bitch to her staff
Male, female, disabled. There's a history of her acting abusive to her staff.
