Living for the right to choose death
Man with debilitating disease fights for right-to-die movement

The right-to-die movement is giving Kurt Perry a reason to live.

Plagued by a debilitating and painful condition with no known cure, the 28-year-old man from a small town west of Chicago decided to take his own life. With help from an organization called the Final Exit Network, he settled on the method he would use to kill himself and selected Feb. 26, 2009, as the day he would die.

But as the hour drew near, Perry's plans fell apart when a police sting in Georgia resulted in the arrest of Final Exit members, temporarily disabling the group. Two years later, Perry continues to advocate for the right-to-die movement, while his "final exit" remains on hold.

"People deserve to make the choice," said Perry, who got involved with Hemlock of Illinois, an affiliate of Final Exit, after the ordeal. The organization tends to the needs of incurably or fatally ill individuals at their deaths, without assisting in suicides. ............(more)

2. I am 100% for the right to die...we should be free to do this...after all
this is my life and I should be able to choose...
