"tell that to Pat Tillman's family" - Rizzoli and Isles last night
Edited on Tue Jul-12-11 02:58 PM by Aerows
They were discussing fragging, and we all know Angie Harmon is right-wing.

I found that to be a breathtaking admission, but then again, I like the show.

The cast of the show was discussing heroes in Afghanistan, and we know Pat Tillman occurred in Afghanistan.

I give points for even bringing it up again.

5. Would you like to discuss the points made
and you are free to hate on me because it was Afghanistan instead of Iraq, and it is horrible to bring up an issue that has gotten too little attention.

You will never shoot me down for bringing it up.

7. His family are heroes for not going along with the narrative
and Pat is a hero for just being himself.

16. No arguments
but I thought it was fascinating that the show dared to say so.

4. Pat Tillman was killed by FF in AFGHANISTAN.
Edited on Tue Jul-12-11 02:57 PM by MADem
It was a "coverup is worse than the crime" situation. No one was trying to kill him, it was a mistake, but since he was a heroic figure, the brass didn't want to admit that he died in such an ignominious, fog-of-war fashion.

He wasn't "front towards enemy" fragged, though, as was common in Vietnam, where enlisted subordinates pointed mines towards their often clueless commissioned leadership to take them out if they gave orders that involved hazard to their lives and little/no potential for mission progress.

Edited to add this link: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/05/03/AR2005050301502.html

The first one is the "fictionalized account," the second details the results of the investigation.

8. Yes, he was
and I messed up by stating Iraq.

It's just as disgraceful to fuck up on the name as it is to misuse the person. My apologies.

14. Thanks
sorry I messed it up and indicated Iraq rather than Afghanistan.

I sincerely apologize for not only not getting the location correct, I was using it to make a point with the wrong location. I just pointed it out because the show did, and I was impressed by that.

Apologies for botching it up. I really meant it as a celebration.

17. I watch because I like Sasha
she was great on NCIS...maybe Angie saw the error of her ways, or maybe she doesn't like the new repubs...she seems like the old type and those I guess I can live with.

If it's Angie Harmon vs Sasha Alexander.

I'd pretty much let it all go for Sasha Alexander *grin*
