Has anyone seen the documentary 'Boogie Man: The Lee Atwater Story'?
I watched it last evening now that it is available online via Netflix: http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Boogie_Man_The_Lee_Atwater_Story/70100713?trkid=2361637

I remember that schmuck and his antics vividly even after all these years. I also remember his death bed conversion so-to-speak before he died. At the time I didn't grave dance - though, I was very indifferent to his death because I think his life was an illustrated example of KARMA.

As for the documentary, I would highly recommend it for people who weren't politically aware during the 1980's, it will give you a great idea of why political debate has degenerated to what it is now.

Another thing I took away from the documentary, and perhaps my attitude toward Atwater taints it somewhat, but didn't buy his apologies to people he destroyed - he was sociopath and couldn't give a rat's ass about anyone but Lee Atwater.

Has anyone else seen this? If so, what did you think?

1. I saw it and loved it and hated him (more).
I don't care whether it's true that he had a deathbed epiphany and apologized. The guy was a dick.

2. I saw it.
And was really struck when Ed Rollins said that he had "the eyes of a killer".

8. Ed Rollins is currently Michelle Bachman's campaign manager -
I wonder what he thinks of HER eyes.

7. Bachman is inconsequential fluff next to Atwater.

He was instrumental in changing the whole tone of public life. A disgusting coagulation of bile and waste.

9. Bachmann didn't ruin anyone's life or career.
The worst thing she did was throw her lesbian step-sister under the bus. It's bad, but not on the scale of Atwater.

12. He thought he was buying his ticket into heaven with his last minute repentance.
Vile human being. I am watching now, but I'm not certain I have the stomach to finish it.
