If Bachmann Wins Big in Iowa . . .

A small win in Iowa will improve Michele Bachman's overall chances but it won't put Romney off stride. After all, she has roots in Iowa. However, if she wins big, it will definitely create a new dynamic for the GOP.

The Republican party is full of boring old dudes who say the same predictable things over and over. Mitch McConnell could give lessons in how to bore people, but Eric Cantor and John Boehner are plenty boring in their own right. Say what you will about the zany, quixotic Bachmann, she'll keep us guessing, "Did she really say that?"

A Bachmann blowout in Iowa would give her frontrunner status and guarantee a lively free-for-all among Republicans in 2012.
