Bob Sheaffer aaaaalllllllmost got there. But as usual, he choked.
He asked Michelle ImNotSarah about her many false statements. He cited one, wherein she said Obama had approved only one drilling lease when in fact he had, at that point, approved 270 of them.

She stuttered a little and then off on a tangent of obfuscation and avoidance. Her let her go and then went to his original question. This time he asked it a little more forcefully. Same response from her. Then his eyes shifted, literally, to the left as he looked from her to someone off camera.

And he dropped the question.

Shame on you, you putz. Shame on your producer, too. And double shame if, instead of your producer, you were taking direction from her handlers.

The US news media is so fucking broken it is now a national hazard.

4. I hate admit it, but Katie Couric was "tougher" as a journalist when she
interviewed Sarah Palin on the newspapers than Schieffer was with Bachmann.

7. She was tough at all- Couric asked no brainer questions to someone with no brains
Palin flat out froze repeatedly on camera. Her "in what respect" on ABC made her a laughingstock to start with.

6. No mention of hiding in the bushes at a gay rights rally?

BTW- after reading Taibbi's great article in Rolling Stone about her I think she will be on the ticket. She has the Tea Party mostly to herself, Iowa Republican party is still dominated by FAR right bible thumpers, New Hampshire tends to vote for "independent" types like Bachmann, and South Carolina is going to be a festival of not-too-well-hidden race baiting.

8. Bachmann's Game...
When she's confronted with a question she knows she'll look bad on she'll run to a talking point or try to divert to another topic. You can ask her the same question a dozen times and she's on auto-pilot...you only get what she wants to say and never a straight answer. The only time that changes is when she's on friendly turf and a Shannity lobs her softballs she can ramble on about.

Her shtick in these interviews is to build sympathy from the wingnuts. She wants to look like she's being picked on by Schieffer or others and play it for votes in Iowa and campaign contributions. Thus if Schieffer tries to hammer her too hard he does her a favor. Yes, it's conveluted, but we're looking at a parallel universe here...

9. Why do you bother, Stinky. I gave up on the Sunday morning crap years ago.
It's normally four repubs and two DINO's on. Not much of anything worthwhile listening to.

10. Amen to that
I don't understand Dems' addiction to the fascist propaganda. Even the downtrodden soviet proletariat knew enough to not pay attention to Pravda.

15. I'm OK, in spite of fact 'court issues' not improved.
S.O.B. sent a p.o.s missive, containing 'blackmail' and threats!!! Working on how to deal w it all. FUNNY that IRS ends up being 'in my corner,' kind of, as he's using them for what I consider to be blackmail, 'do this soon or else.' P.O.S!

Otherwise, OK. In touch w Amy, and a look-alike to this one is with me now!

Thanks for asking.

20. She also said the Pres had released all the oil reserves
It was actually more on the order of 5%. She also said the oil release was a threat to national security and was not called out on that statement. She is like Faux News.. she talks so much shit you cant even counter all of her outrageous statements. Calling Politifact....

When he lets someone like Bachmann come across as remotely sane - WTF? He's lost it, when he can't even hit that one out of the park.
