"On or about March 2, I informed South Burlington Police Chief Trevor Whipple that we would no long accept Officer O’Connor’s cases for prosecution," Donovan said Wednesday. "I told him we were doing this in the interests of Chittenden County."
Donovan made his disclosure one day after attorneys for Elizabeth Ivy, 25, of South Burlington filed a federal civil-rights lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Burlington alleging O’Connor had twice subjected Ivy to illegal searches during a six-month period."
