From The Top Enlisted Marine on DADT repeal: "GET OVER IT"
"Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution is pretty simple.

It says, 'Raise an army.' It says absolutely nothing about race, color, creed, sexual orientation. You all joined for a reason: to serve. To protect our nation, right?

How dare we, then, exclude a group of people who want to do the same thing you do right now, something that is honorable and noble? Right? Get over it.

We’re magnificent, we’re going to continue to be. Let’s just move on, treat everybody with firmness, fairness, dignity, compassion and respect. Let’s be Marines."

- Command Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Michael Barrett, speaking to troops in South Korea.

Semper Fi! :patriot:

That's most of the training anybody needed. That wasn't so hard to understand was it?

1. It often takes the Sergeants to add the
clarity of purpose & mission to the particular situation.

2. And the job will be done.

Good for him.
It would be fascinating to know how he's "evolved" across his career.

4. when Top leads...
...the rank and file follow. I worked in an Army S-1, with our CSM. Officers can issue orders, but NCOs implement them. If matters went less than expected, Top would jump in with both boots resulting in effective results.

Sadly, what CSM Barett says lead to early retirement. Waiting for fallout. Hoping for the best.

7. Thank you CSM!
The way the military has been abused is deplorable...amazing anyone would want to serve.
