9. They ought to hire Catherine Crier
because the right hates her so much.

Also, Ashley Banfield because NBC punished her for speaking the truth about the Iraq war.

16. I would like to see Eugene Robinson, Melissa Harris-Perry, and surprise pick...
Lisa Ling.

I also thought about Thom and Amy, but they have their own thing going on. So does Melissa Harris-Perry. Shoot, they all do!

I think I would like to see Lisa Ling host an international-type news show, with guest commentary from Richard Engle.

18. Remember the 2008 Election Coverage on MSNBC
When I tuned in for coverage and saw Keith Olbermann, Lawrence O'Donnell, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews and Joe Scarborough participating, I thought that was a powerful panel (and I was not counting Matthews and Scarborough). Eugene Robinson also showed up. The next Presidential Election is not that far off. Question: If you plan to watch Keith Olbermann on Current (which I do), who should be sitting at the desk with him that would truly be impressive and could compete with MSNBC's coverage? And very importantly, who will do the chalkboard scoreboard(formerly the role of the late Tim Russert currently played by Chuck Todd).

There is a lot to do before the Presidential election when it comes to strategic staffing for critical coverages.

What heavyweights can Keith Olbermann and Current recruit that can compete for election coverage audiences who are not already signed with other networks? And they do have to be heavyweights in the event any Florida, Florida, Florida or Ohio 2004 issues materialize ... which I am thinking will certainly happen in view of the way Republicans are already acting.

Sam

19. Jim Hightower
During his brief gig on ABC radio, he was great at getting right-wingers to see how they'd been had.

Perhaps that's why he was fired.

that would be my ideal line up

ok mainly because Stephanie cracks me up and now that she has come out, maybe Keith will drop the retraining order

27. Anderson Cooper and Richard Engle. (sp?)
Not to say there isn't some pretty good journalism already on Current, because there definitely is.
I think they could really corner the market in field journalism with these two.

The main stream channels already are filled to the brim with useless opinion. An hour a day of that is more than enough. Some additional news would be grand.

I have an idea I'd like to present to them.
