Mass media now describe Social Security, Medicare & unemployment benefits as "government handouts"!
This is a new description now being used by the corporate mass media to attack these benefits by suggesting they are some form of undeserved welfare programs. BBI

A big boom in government handouts
Nearly 20 cents of every dollar of disposable income comes from the government, often in the form of Social Security, Medicare or unemployment benefits.

4. I am collecting social security and I do not consider it
a government handout. I put money into social security for over 50 years and I deserve this "handout."

9. Welfare is a "handout". SS, Medicare, and unemployment are
benefits paid on what amounts to insurance policies.

Have I mentioned yet today how much I HATE THESE PEOPLE?
