1. I think so. A good economy + jobs can do nothing but hurt the republicans. They have
the country last as a priority and themselves first.

corporations are as well, with this lame ass excuse "we can't hire because we just don't know what is going to happen".

Just what in the hell does that mean? Taxes have never been lower, they are making record profits. Why don't they just give up all pretense, and admit they want a true fascist state.

3. Started a war that resulted in the death of hundreds of thousands for political gain

Naw, they would never spike the economy to gain an electoral advantage.

4. I do believe big business is not hiring in order to sway the election
I believe they are raising prices for the same reason.

Soon we will hear the shrill screetching of the right: "jobs jobs jobs tax cut tax cut tax cut vote out the dems" in such a steady drumbeat, tied with big business STILL not hiring and the easily led will be...well, easily led.

It only works because the media is totally on their side.

9. lets not forget that there's a voting block of apprx. 50% of the total voting population
that have decided they can never vote for a Democrat, regardless of the reality that Republican policies have brought upon them. They certainly aren't impervious to the results of these policies. They're going broke and being effected at the same rates we are. I blame their addiction to 24/7 propaganda programming, a sports-like fan attitude of "us vs. them", ignorance, and general inability to connect dots.

I've been using this term lately to describe their coordinated domestic attack on the bottom 95% of the population.

20. They don't even give a shit about the country or its future IMO let alone the working people. They
are out to profit in anyway they can and to push their agenda to enslave most of this country and if they can to install a theocracy. I only wish Americans would wake up. This nation is so gullible and dumbed down it's pathetic. A theocracy would make control of the masses easy, those who pledge their allegiance to authoritarians.

13. Absolutely. From day one. That was their 2010 election strategy and it worked.
They are hoping it will work in 2012.

Note the house never passes jobs bills. Just antiabortion stuff.

And I think they are trying the same playbook now. Frame Obama as being weak and ineffective. Tank the economy, raise prices.

Deja vu.

16. IMO, repigs don't want to win prez in 2012.
My theory is that they're looking to run another Dole or McCain--I don't know who; whose "turn" is it? Newt's too much of an obvious loser (in every sense of the word). Cain has no chance of winning over their real base, since he's too dark. But he seems smart, in a smarmy, patronizing sort of way, and "pizza magnate" is NOT his complete resume by far: they just keep pushing that to make him sound "regular guy"-ish. As they do with every sociopath they run.

They want to keep running the gubmint and economy into the ground so they can blame everything on Obama. I think part of their plan, looking back over the last 30+ years of it (the Nixon debacle started them thinking how to gain the James Bond-villain size and power they have now, again, IMO)--they aligned with the religion industry, because large percentages of people will do whatever some religion industry outlet preaches for them to do; IMO, they expected large increases in church membership--that's not happening, yet, but starving people will do just about anything--including violence based on ignorance and demonization--if they can convince each other they're doing "god's work."

starving and destitute to do their bidding in a dystopian theocratic society. History repeats.

the carter administration. then when they get a white republican in the white house, they will hire and invest again, and say 'look how the democrats ruined things'. I think they do it all the time.

21. Are the Dems doing anything to help the economy?
No, not really.

The problem is we're living under a two party/same corporate master system of government, and the parties are simply playing good cop/bad cop with our society.

And meanwhile, the rest of us keep swirling down that drain.

23. Yep, A=B. For the most part the politicians are window dressing. The
real wealth and power remains in the background pulling all of the strings while the politicians, most of them, do theatrics. It's one choreographed show for the masses to applaud and choose sides. But both sides are bought and controlled by wealth, power, banksters, wall street and corporations. The difference being the dems are better on social issues and not with religious nuts for the most part.

to them. Their primary motivation is to protect the super wealthy at all costs. They don't care that people are suffering as long as they can continue to amass wealth and power.

27. Hell, yes! Their only hope for winning is for Americans to suffer and be miserable.
In my mind, we all do better then America does better... but not for Repukes. Their idea of victory is when everyone else loses. Things have to get worse and worse and worse. Then people will vote to "kick the bums out." Unwittingly, the voters will turn the keys over to the worst possible corporate owned politicians.

It's really twisted.

28. I've long, long, LONG said it . . . Corporate America is Sabotaging American Progress.
Their man in the White House left time bombs in the form of damaging tax cuts, which the Cash-n-Carry CEOs could then use their media to blame the bad economy on . . . who else . . . TEH DEMOCRATS!!! The bought-and-paid-for media keeps reciting the same "tax cuts guuuuuuud, democraps baaaaaaaaad" mantra as they did 10 years ago - this whole scam is big dollars for them also. No one is (well, except us, of course) is even asking why they keep repeating this myth even though it's painfully, PAINFULLY evident that the Bewsh tax cuts for the rich have not resulted in net positive job growth in 12 years.

The problem is that CEOs and the wealthy do not FEAR us. Therefore, they have zero reason to stop the plundering because no one stands up to them. Shit's only going to get worse unless we (and Democratic politicians) do SOMETHING.
