Heavy T-storms this morning and red sheet lightning.
I've seen plenty of white and blue lightning but never red before.

3. It could be red because of smoke in the air
Smoke from the Arizona wildfires is blanketing much of the midwest and into the northeast.

I noticed the moon last night was high in the sky and had an orange tint to it as if it would when setting.

4. Lucky bugger
All we have is heavy smoke clinging to the ground and no prospect of rain over the next seven days, at least.

Everything stinks of smoke, even the poor cat.

6. Send some of that south to Oklahoma...
central and western parts of the state are baking. This is supposed to be the rainiest time of the year.

7. We just came off of a week of unheard of heat for the month of June
and the soil was baking. This morning we received almost 2" of rain with another 2" promised for later this afternoon. Now in late May, we had some of the coolest temps on record for that month with frost on several nights. Yesterday there was a 20 degree temp differential between the NW and SE corners of the state.
