10 Reasons Andrew Breitbart Should Apologize (Or Just Shut Up and Go Away)
http://www.alternet.org/teaparty/151236/10_reasons_andrew_breitbart_should_apologize_%28or_just_shut_up_and_go_away%29/

Public apologies are often the source of captivating and prurient entertainment. There seems to be a genetic compulsion in the human DNA to observe our heroes, celebrities, and of course, adversaries, fall from grace and beg forgiveness. Monday was Rep. Anthony Weiner’s curtain call, but like any good melodrama, he was upstaged by an ambitious and vainglorious rival, Andrew Breitbart.

After commandeering the podium at Weiner’s press conference, Breitbart declared, “I’m here for some vindication.” He portrayed himself as a media-contrived victim of character assassination and challenged the reporters in the room to substantiate their alleged assaults on his reputation.

“The media says ‘Breitbart lies, Breitbart lies, Breitbart lies, Breitbart lies.’ Give me one example of a provable lie. One. One. Journalists? One. Put your reputation on the line here.”

For some reason, no one in the room responded. It’s almost as if the press were clueless stenographers, unfamiliar with Breitbart’s past, and were incapable of providing a substantive rebuttal.

(end snip)

10 very good reasons at the link. We all know these by heart. People like Chris Matthews need to be educated.

1. this kind of reminds me of court....when a person is on trial
for a robbery and the judge throws out all evidence of past thefts. To me, Weiner handed
this one to them on a silver platter - not only flaunting his junk...but flaunting the
fact that he was a congressman. Why else would you send a pic with your office pics
in the background and others with his recognizable face?

3. I know...and if the concern is that the country should be

talking about more important things, like it should, why isn't he blamed for purposely
taking all the risk that exposed all of this that is keeping the country from talking
about other things.

thought this was an interesting take (despite the source) on what could happen if he stays

If he had had at least enough concern to do all of this anonymously as one might argue
a nationally recognized sitting congressman should have, none of this would have happened.

5. Funny how much time you devote to tearing up Weiner but don't note Breitbart's blackmail.

It's mentioned in the last paragraph of the very article you link to.

6. I DO think Breitbart is a despicable creep but don't you think Weiner
handed all this to him on a silver platter? I don't expect anymore from BB - he could have just
learned of all this stuff and ignored it and kept it quiet....but he's a partisan and he's in
business to create sensational headlines...so I would never expect him to do that. To me, if
it hadn't been BB, it would have eventually been someone else - given Weiner plastered his
face and profession out there for almost anyone to see.

I think we all can be loyal Dems and still differ on the kind of person we want representing
us, can't we?
