Romney flamed on Facebook for believing in man made climate change
Edited on Tue Jun-07-11 06:18 PM by RandySF
If you take a look at Mitt Romney's Facebook page, you will see that he was stirred a hornet's nest by admitting that he believes in man made climate change. Good luck with the presidential nomination, Mitt.

2. It's okay for him to do that.
Corporations can make tons of money off the 'green' fad. He's still the same tax-killing, wage-lowering Republican he's always been.

3. No, because the GOP hates science almost as much as it hates birth control.

4. There's nothing scientific about this.
Right-wingers will forgive this little lapse in judgement while independents will think he's a different kind of Republican. Meanwhile, he believes in the same old disastrous economic policies of his colleagues. He's nothing but a soft-sale to those who want a 'moderate' next time.

5. Global warming denial is a real problem.

That said, the dance Mittens & the rest of them will have to do to make it through the GOP primary process will be a wonder to behold. Trust me, they're going to make him scrub anything that carries even a whiff of 'moderate' off him until his skin is raw.

6. Republicans believe what they're told to believe.
If they can get Rush Limbaugh on board with this, problem solved. And most Americans don't give a shit about climate change, anyway. They think they're doing something for the environment when they buy that clear diet soda in the plastic bottle. It looks cleaner, you know, and good for you.

7. If most Americans 'don't give a shit', then who cares what Mitt has to say about it?
It shouldn't matter.

Nevertheless, as a basic point, I'm inclined to encourage ALL politicians to acknowledge objective fact and reality, like the fact of climate change and greenhouse gas emissions as a result of fossil fuel use.

8. Until the corporations who rule this country figure out
a way to make money from green technologies, all that will be required of our politicians is lip service on the issue, and that is all this is. Even the Republicans will be able to see that.

9. I hold out very little hope of humanity doing anything about it near-term, actually.
Still, I have to side with facts over denial.
