Rules for Right-Wing Commentors
Edited on Wed Jun-01-11 08:22 PM by anthroguy101
-You cannot make an argument based on name-calling alone. It only proves that you cannot come up with a fact-based argument and is a sign of inferior intellect.
-Hyperbole is not advised.
-Red Herrings (comments that have nothing to do with the article) are a sign of inferior intellect and will possibly be flagged.
-Comparisons to totalitarian regimes and ideologies, real or imaginary, to a democratic society are not justified unless democracy is at risk. They will possibly be flagged.
-You cannot complain about a progressive site's moderators if you regularly visit a conservative site that has moderators with the same level of strictness or greater. It will not be taken seriously.
-You cannot play the race card (or the "reverse race" card) without any evidence to support your accusation. It will not be taken seriously.
-You cannot make a racist comment and then claim to not be racist. That is instantaneous hypocrisy.
-You cannot make a homophobic comment and then claim not to be homophobic. That is instantaneous hypocrisy.
-Having a friend, real or imaginary, in a sexual, genetic, or religious minority does not excuse or invalidate your racist or homophobic comments.
-Sockpuppeting as a minority is a bannable offense and does not make your arguments any more credible.
-With the exception of icanhascheezburger, your intelligence and the number of spelling and grammar mistakes you make are inversely proportional.
-Typing in all caps is the equivalent of shouting. It does not make your argument any more credible.
-Citing FOX News for your argument will give it less credibility than not citing anything at all.
-FOX News is neither fair nor balanced.
-There is no "straight news" on FOX News.
-Citing political pundits like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity will give your argument less credibility than not citing anything at all.
-Citing clogs such as Hot Air or I Hate the Media will give your argument less credibility than not citing anything at all.
-Citing right-wing think tanks such as the Heritage Foundation and American Crossroads will give your article less credibility than not citing anything at all.
-Posting links alone is a sign of lack of independent thought. These posts will possibly be flagged and treated as spam, regardless of where you link.
-Posting quotes by anyone other than yourself, without any commentary or follow-up, is a sign of lack of independent thought and laziness. It will not be taken seriously.
-Parroting talking points made by other people repeatedly, without any evidence to back up the claim, is a sign of inferior intellect and lack of independent thought.
