Breaking CNN...Palin says TAXING the WEALTHY is SOCIALISM

.....She just said this as she was leaving her plush HOTEL to go shopping with the money she raised today.... And meanwhile there are 100's of people that have been waiting at Gettysburg all day to see PRINCESS STUPID...I guess tha Park Service will be kicking them out soon like 10pm EST.

...SOCIALISM.....Give me a BREAK...

26. The nitwits who contribute to her PAC.
Edited on Mon May-30-11 08:24 PM by A HERETIC I AM
It looks as if the PAC bought it, or at least is leasing it (Likely the latter).

A new coach like that can run upwards of $500,000, and depending on chassis type and amenities, up to and over $1,000,000. Used units are considerably cheaper, but still 6 figures.

I looked at several photos and can not tell if it is a Prevost or not. If it is, that is high end. It is a "Country Coach", meaning it was modified and customized by Country Coach out of Junction City, OR, north of Eugene. There is at least one other major luxury motor coach builder in that area - Marathon Coach in Coburg, just north of Eugene. I have a fair amount of experience dealing with Marathon, as their paintshop painted a couple of the trucks I drove when I was in Indy car racing in the 1990's

Edit: BTW, The folks who work at Marathon don't think too highly of Country Coach (or at least didn't back when I visited there regularly). They saw them as just basically a bunch of rip-off artists, stealing ideas from Marathon and others and calling them their own.

8. Her state is socialist for crying out loud
85% of the state budget is paid by oil companies. They NATIONALIZED THEIR RESOURCES!!!

She came in on the tail end of the most corrupt family in American politics and said "we will do this" and "we will do that" and the guy at the bar doesn't give a rip because HE DOESN'T PAY INCOME TAXES. In fact he gets a dividend from the state. Palin stepped up the state dividend because she knew she was on the list of VP candidates and she wanted to boost her poll numbers. Her numbers in Alaska are in the tank now - she and Todd are buying a house in Arizona probably going to run for Senate.

9. Truman said,
"The Republicans … will try to make people believe that everything the Government has done for the country is socialism. They will go to the people and say: 'Did you see that social security check you received the other day—you thought that was good for you, didn't you? That's just too bad! That's nothing in the world but socialism. Did you see that new flood control dam the Government is building over there for the protection of your property? Sorry—that's awful socialism! That new hospital that they are building is socialism. Price supports, more socialism for the farmers! Minimum wage laws? Socialism for labor! Socialism is bad for you, my friend. Everybody knows that. And here you are, with your new car, and your home, and better opportunities for the kids, and a television set—you are just surrounded by socialism! Now the Republicans say, ‘That's a terrible thing, my friend, and the only way out of this sinkhole of socialism is to vote for the Republican ticket.'"

Harry S. Truman, 1952

10. Socialist
It's the new buzzword. Must be something bad. Something scary, like plagues and famines.

I don't think this woman could define Socialism if you asked her. It's just a word to toss out there to get people who don't know any more than she does, scared.

44. The socialism thing...We all need to train ourselves...
Every time..Every. Time. one of these dittoheads uses the term socialism or socialist, take a deep breath, pause for a second or two, and then respond with any of the following questions, which will force them to support their claim or STFU. The ball is in their court, after all.

Tell me about that.
How so?
Socialist?? (Then shut up and wait for a reply)
Can you clarify (or explain) what you mean?
In what respect? (Charlie) <Sorry about this one>
Tell me more.
In what way?
What do you base that on?
etc.

I realize that Sarah Palin and others of her ilk are more interested in drive-by insults and aren't going to hang around to engage in dialog. Nevertheless, if more people took them to task, that label might not be bandied about so easily.

18. "Liberal" used to be the old buzzword...
it must have lost its impact and needed to be upgraded to a new insulting term.

It's not only Sarah Palin who flips this word out carelessly.

27. Eggs-actly. Liberal used to be the negative buzz word of Rush Limbaugh and Fox..
They have found a new way to convince people that they don't need health care.. the word is "Socialism".

Watch for it.. it will be foremost on Meet the Press and other so-caled news shows.

36. On the positive side (I'm an optimist)
:) It destigmatizes the word for a LOT of people. You know the majority of people who DON'T like Palin. If socialism is something she's against, maybe I should be for it.

It's part of the education of the American people. Maybe some of those people will actually read up on the subject and decide they LIKE socialism.

13. No Sarah, it is not socialism. It is called Patriotism, being a
true American. It is paying for the privilege to live in this country.
It is believing in this country to pay your fair share. The ones that benefit
the most should pay the most. If people feel that doing that is a burden
then perhaps they are not very patriotic or a very good American.

Sarah are you saying that you are paying too much in taxes??
Sarah are you saying that it is not worth it to live in this country
if you have to pay more taxes??

20. Having a government at all
is socialism to some extent. Taxing anyone at all is socialism, to some extent. Sidewalks, streets, and sewers are commonly owned property, and represent socialism to some modest extent. Laws and institutions that protect society are socialism to some modest extent.

It is all socialism to some extent, the question is which extent do you prefer and are you willing to pay for it? Paying for it means the rich get taxed too.
