Spain's Secret Conflict: The independence movement in Catalonia (Video)

I didn't even know that there was a strong movement for independence among the inhabitants of Catalonia until I saw this video. Most people have heard of the Basques and their sometimes violent independence movement, but this was the first time I heard of another region of Spain also wanting to break away from Spain to form an independent country. Like the Basques, they also have their own Catalan language which the Spanish government tried for years, apparently unsuccessfully, to stamp out. Catalonia is a region in North Eastern Spain bordering on France. The main city in the region would be Barcelona. Just thought I would post for anyone else with a general interest in European current events or history.

Just look at all the graffiti that says "Catalunya no es Espana". I remember seeing it 25 years ago.
