Palin's Rolling Blunder: From Sled Dogs to Harley Hogs

It was announced yesterday that Sarah Palin will take her circus show on the road this Memorial Day weekend. Her plan is to mix in with the motorcycle clan, Rolling Thunder. Film crews will be there in large numbers, not to hear Palin words of wisdom, but to see Palin promoting Palin by showcasing herself on the national stage presuming that she will receive the loving endorsement of Rolling Thunder bikers.

Palin plans a much more epic event by associating herself with American flag-waving Rolling Thunder Viet Nam veterans and their families who will be converging on Washington, D.C., not to revere Sarah Palin, but to honor America's fallen heroes on Memorial Day.

Sarah Palin presumes that all those bikers are white Anglo-European Republican/Tea Partyers who are chomping at the bit to oust Barack Obama and return our country to the George W. Bush glory days. You know, those days when Republicans borrowed and spent freely, involved America in two catastrophic wars, exacerbated the culture of corporate corruption that led to America's worst recession in history and a massive financial collapse in which we are still digging out of two years after Bush-Cheney left office.

What if the Rolling Thunder bikers are just like the rest of us, concerned with what kind of jobs their kids and grand kids will have if the current crop of Republicans have their way and eviscerate every federal safety net that was established to help the neediest, the elderly and the hungriest citizens while simultaniously denying millions of jobless Americans unemployment benefits?
