Palin's bus trip already a success
This *itch is doing exactly what she planned on doing. Sensational Headlines after sensational Headlines.

Turn on the news and her bus trip is even topping the Presidents trip to Joplin today.

Yes she is successful in keeping her name in the news.

This is never going to stop!

1. Is she actually riding the bus this time
Former GOP Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin, who has been emerging from a bus emblazoned with her name and photograph during her publicity tour for her memoir "Going Rogue," may be flying between her promotional appearances.

A blog called "Palingates," citing the flight log, first reported that Palin has apparently been traveling on a Gulfstream II 12-passenger jet from stop to stop.

Joe McGinniss at The Daily Beast then picked up the story. Before the tour, Palin's publicist had claimed that Palin would be "making two and sometimes three stops a day, traveling in a bus painted with the cover of her book." The former Alaska governor also gave interviews from the bus, driving home the notion that it was her mode of transportation for the tour.

But flight logs show that the Gulfstream jet, which costs $4,000 per hour, has been flown from stop to stop on the book tour, prompting McGinniss to speculate that she "hasn't been on the bus, except for short hops between local airports and hotels and book-signing sites."

3. Even with an * replacing the 'b', this still seems rather bigoted toward women. nt

4. I'm sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree...
if she were a he, and the poster wrote 'bastard', no man would be thinking that it was 'bigoted' towards men. Bitch/Bastard are words which are more or less gender-specific and describe a condition that's worse than 'ass' but better than 'f--kwad'. They are not meant to be, in most cases, indicative of a user's feelings towards a gender, any more than 'manhole cover' ('personhole cover'?) is.

7. The Swayze character in "Roadhouse" was right, "Opinions vary." Check this out:
<snip> Special note with regard to the word "bitch": The word "bitch" has been the source of a great deal of controversy on this website, because some of our members consider it to be a bigoted slur against all women, while others do not consider it bigoted. For a while we actively deleted posts which included this word, in an effort to keep the peace. This effort helped to keep discussions on track, but it resulted in many deleted posts that were otherwise perfectly fine as well as many confused people. Futhermore, the moderators themselves were ambivalent about removing the word. For this reason, we no longer automatically remove the word "bitch." However, we strongly urge members to voluntarily avoid using the word if they wish to keep their own discussions from going off-topic, and we reserve the right to take disciplinary action if we think someone is deliberately using the word in an effort to disrupt or cause trouble. <did not provide link - it's in the rules section>

14. I do understand, and that's why I used the term 'respectfully'
b/c I can well-comprehend the reaction of a person who regards that word as prejudiced. I would simply submit that any derogatory word carries with it a possibility of similarly angering a group of individuals, p--ck, for example, and yet, how would we have words of denigration if they did not refer directly to something to which many have in common? Our language would be poorer without them...witness the first word from the fireman who saw the plane hit the WTC: "Shit, Holy Shit." and yet, although offensive in a formal context, and for good reason disallowed on broadcast media, it was the perfect word at the perfect time. If he had said, "Wow" or "crap", it would have seemed, well, staged.

Your call though

And it is only against one person. I live in a house full of women, don't think they would let me get away with being anti women.

17. Probably wasn't a "w". Otherwise it probably would have been a "w"
and not an "*".

I didn't know the "one person" rule. Does this mean if you call (insert individual here) a (insert slur/derogatory term here) it's ok because it is "...only against one person...."

9. WE have to stop paying her Any attention.
I don't believe she is running. I believe she wants to bilk enough off of her followers to pay for her house. All she needs is a Min $1.7 Million More from her loyal followers.

I hope she takes millions out of the Republican coffers. I hope she becomes so full of herself that she runs as an Independent. I wonder what she would name her party.

19. Why, "The Maverick Party," of course!
;)

The media would love for her to run. Then they can take the 3-ring circus that is our current electoral process, & pump it up on steroids. We are in for a truly sickening display of an electoral process gone horribly wrong, the next 18 months.

10. 8th Day Wonder On The 9th Day...
Sit back and enjoy the show...Grifterella "World Tour" '11 should be quite a rolling circus.

Couple of things to keep in mind. First is how faded Mooselini's star is as a legitimate, serious candidate. She's a political "personality" just as much as Paris Hilton is a "personality" celebrity...only known for being known. This is a far cry from when she burst on the scene in '08...she's a known commodity and that's become a liability.

Next...she's burned a lot of bridges and has many enemies inside her own corrupt party that will gladly poop in her cornflakes if given the chance. All they have to do is give her some rope...Lady Blah Blah will do the rest.

And that's the biggest liability she has..."being Sarah". Be assured she' twit or blurb something stupid or have some embarassing incident that will once again feed the late night shows and turn her into a laughing stock. The victim game is wearing thin and her reputation of being a political lightweight will once again become apparent.

Her shelf-life is quickly expiring. Her mantle of being the "hot" rushpublican is being usurped by Bachmann and this means her gravy train is being threatened as well. Consider this a last gasp grift...cash in quick before it totally vanishes.

I think your crystal ball is pretty accurate.

Palin's not the sharpest tack in the pack, but she knows she's not going to be the repub candidate. Barbara Bush revealed that when she stated, "Shes beautiful. Shes very happy in Alaska, and I hope shell stay there." Georgie was a puppet & they could control him. Palin is a loose cannon. She will buck the repub elite just to show her fans what a maverick she is.

Edited on Sun May-29-11 08:34 AM by Fumesucker
The 27% who love her love her even more and the rest just ever more strongly want her to shut the fuck up and go the hell away, or vice versa..

Can you imagine an Obama-Palin debate, it would make Godzilla vs Bambi look like a fair fight.

23. Bush was bad..
Palin is far worse and the country is nowhere near the same place it was in 2000.

Bush at least in the debate could mostly speak in complete sentences, I'm not sure Palin knows what a complete sentence is.

Obama is also a better debater than Gore and far more charismatic.

I remember the joke about how to spot Gore among his Secret Service contingent, Gore was the stiff one.

25. I feel Bewsh II and the wave of bad govs is the last gasp of the "Reagan Democrats".
The media was incredibly successful in painting Bewsh II as a moderate . . . plus, he was a Bewsh so he had that going for him. Gore also refused to run on the positive aspects of the Clinton administration and chose milquetoast closet fundie Lieberturd as an exclamation point.

There's absolutely no way this new crop of hard-rightist loons have these luxuries at their fingertips. Even Mittens has to kiss ass to as many Teabaggers as he can since he's losing a lot of the fundie vote.
