RyanCare: Don't call it Medicare
The Republicans claim the Ryan plan would not eliminate Medicare. That is crap.

Sure, the Ryan plan would leave us with a system CALLED Medicare. But we should call it what it is: RyanCare. It's not Medicare, no matter what they call it.

Look at i this way: We could eliminate Medicare and then start calling the National Football League "Medicare." If we did that, we would technically not be "a nation without Medicare." But that does not mean the program passed in 1965 would still be there.

Ryan's plan eliminates the Medicare of 1965 and replaces it with another plan which would have the same name. But for all intents and purposes, it ends Medicare. It replaces Medicare with RyanCare.

4. Totally Agree - The Repugs Own This Now As Most Are On Record In Both......
the House and Senate. Republicare it is. Coupons instead of vouchers it is.

If they can use Obamacare and Mediscare on the Dems - we need to start turning it around and use the same tactics with them.

3. Don't call them vouchers
Edited on Thu May-26-11 09:43 AM by izquierdista
Call them "cents off coupons". That's what they are, get $5 off your next colonoscopy, or if you are diabetic, with a coupon you get every 10th package of test strips free.*

*Did I mention? We're running a special on angioplasties next month, bring in a friend, and with the coupon you get 20% off and your friend gets 10% off.**

**Cannot be used in combination with other coupons, one friend per customer, not valid in ERs, your mileage may vary.***

***Not available in Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, parts of Indiana, or if your BMI is over 33.

6. Maybe they could use punch cards like some coffee shops.

Each time you get a procedure they punch or stamp your little card, and after you've filled up the card the next one is free.
