One of my friends is at the trial (reporter). Here is her new defense:

Casey Anthony's defense team says Caylee drowned in pool & Casey lied about death b/c she learned to lie when father abused her.


Well I guess that makes up for the cover-up. The burying your daughter in the backyard. Oh my I just don't get it.

But apparently they're prepared to put Casey's father, mother, AND the investigation on trial as missed-direction plays. Should stood in a manslaughter plea deal.

The grandfather has a girlfriend and she is going to testify about something he said about how Caylee died ~~ and it does not point to Casey?

Have not been able to listen to all of this ~~ but it sure is getting interesting. Wonder what the foresics will show. Dr. G (the one in the TV show) did the autopsy...and she said homicide, but no cause of death could be determined. Wonder if she is going to testify, too.

When I thought this case was weird, it sure as hell got stranger!

8. I have to admit, there is no way in hell I would ever be selected for the jury on this.

I can't read the ongoing stories about this case, they make me so angry.

...prejudged the case, all were excused because they formed the opinion that Casey was guilty. Not a one said the opposite.

Baez says George Anthony had affair with someone he met at search for Caylee. B says GA told woman what happened to Caylee was accident.

Baez: "This is not a murder case, this is not a manslaughter case. This is a tragic accident that happened to some disturbed people."

Baez says Roy Kronk, man who found Caylee's remains, found himself a "lottery ticket", thinking he would get $25k for finding Caylee

The defense attorney's opening statement strongly suggests an accidental death, followed by a growing series of lies that only make sense within a sick family system. It is in no way aimed at mitigating a penalty if there is a guilty verdict.

I hear the details every day from my wife (Nancy Grace wannabe) so I still think the accidental death isn't going to fly.

But she definately is trying to garner sympathy from the jury is throwing her family under the bus like this.

A few minutes ago, the camera was on Casey and a woman who was, I believe, her lawyer. Casey was in her seat, crying while the woman patted her on the back. Currently, it's just a shot of the American eagle atop the flag pole in the courtroom. They must have recessed or something.

It's been boring so far. He's being questioned about his career, his early life, just softball questions that don't directly pertain to the case. I think the lawyer questioning him is just trying to establish that Mr. Anthony is a good guy, ex-cop, good husband, father, grandfather, stable work history, etc.

father's testimony, her face looks so guilty and almost pathetic. She's no sociopath.

Defense opening statement: A Chinese menu of conjecture, insinuations, insults, and putting the investigation on trial (also known as the OJ evasion).
