The GOP courts the Bushes.
Source: abcnews.go.com

"None of the 2012 Republican presidential candidates has earned the blessing of the Bush dynasty, with nine months until the Iowa caucuses.

But several early contenders have been striving for approval from the family that has produced the two most recent Republican presidents and wields continued influence among conservative voters and donors. "

You've got to be kidding me!! This bunch of clowns and losers have dragged the US into the ditch every time they've been in power!
The US doesn't need a royal family and we certainly don't need the Saudis having any access to the White House....again!

1. I thought they, particularly Junior, were toxic.
How soon we forget. Well what do you expect, it's been two whole years and four whole months since the worst president in living memory left office.

2. That's what scares me, they should be toxic, and yet we have people kowtowing to them.
If anything, we should sweep up the whole gang plus Dick Cheney and drop them off on the steps of The Hague with our apologies.
What I fear though, is they'll get in again. I figured back after the last Bush recession, people would know better and yet we still got Dubya.
I really really don't want to see that happen again.

3. We have post-partisan Democrats to thank for this memory loss.
These days it's considered gauche to even mention that GWB and his GOP ideology got us into the mess we're in.

5. A working news media would hoot at this
But unfortunately, stuck with what we have in the United States, this is played as a straight news story. I guess it's up to us to point out the stink of desperation that attends any "courting" of the Bush family by serious contenders for political office.

6. Laura (and Jeb) Bush were begging Mitch Daniels to get into the race
Laura called his wife to get him on board and Jeb had talked to Mitch himself.

Jeb is still the unknown in the Bush family. I suspect that he might feel the pull to get in (some kind of Greek tragedy, Oedipus thing to one-up W)
