Tucker Carlson eats crow over wishing that Michael Vick had been executed
HANNITY: All right. Tucker, take one big vacation, a year, just one.

CARLSON: I don't take a lot of vacation like other people.

HANNITY: Some take a ton of it. So, I take one, two weeks off, my big vacation. And what do I have to read on the blogs, is that you are destroying the show. You are absolutely, you're creating controversy. Wanting Michael Vick to get the death penalty. Let's roll the tape.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CARLSON: I'm a Christian, I've made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances. But Michael Vick killed dogs and he did in a heartless and cruel way. And I think personally, he should have been executed for that. He wasn't. But the idea that the president of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs, kind of beyond the pale.

HANNITY: All right. Do you really want him -- do you really think he should -- I'm asking.

CARLSON: This is what happens when you get too emotional. And look, the bottom line is I'm a dog lover. I've had dogs my whole life, we have three of them now, I love them. And I know a lot about what Michael Vick did, what he admitted doing, and I'm not going to get into it Sean, because it's too upsetting frankly. But if you take some time, anybody who takes some time and looks into how he mistreated these dogs and personally tortured them to death, gets upset. And I, you know, I over spoke. I'm uncomfortable with the death penalty under any circumstances. Of course, I don't think he should be executed. But I do think what he did is truly appalling.

1. Tucker needs to say a prayer of thanks that there is no death penalty for bad dancing.
Really, really, bad dancing.

2. Interesting how quickly the conservative mind jumps to ''Violence'' as the answer.
Violence seems to be the conservative default position.

7. Check out any of the threads on DU about Vick
and you will find a lot of good progressives wishing violence and cruelty on Vick.

9. That does break my heart.
No offense to anyone, but dogs' lives aren't worth years of a man's life. The guy could make restitution to a pit bull rescue shelter and help clean up dog fighting better outside than in.

Some of the most, eh, intelligent DUers can sometimes say the darndest things. Remember the poor bullfighter who got gored through his head and lived? People who I thought would show some compassion sided with the bull.

And we wonder why more people aren't pissed about the Bush's Obama's wars.

10. I don't see much overlap between war supporters and DUers who don't see it as unforgivable
for a bull to defend its own life against an aggressor

3. He doesn't think Vick should be executed?
Huh, I guess I drew the wrong conclusion when Tucker said, "He should be executed." Is English Tucker's first language? Does he understand the role of the negation in grammatical construction? How odd that he should pull down such a large salary for flapping his gums and not know some elementary rules of language.

Wotta spambrain.

5. Nonononono...you don't get it!
See, when a Rw creepazoid like tucker (small 't' for small dicks) says something like that, they have only to laugh it off and dismiss it as though it never happened, and HOW DARE YOU HAVE TAKEN THAT SERIOUSLY??!

When a Democrat says something, ANYTHING, then it can be chopped up into little pieces and hung round his/her neck for the rest of the lifetime, and it will never escape scrutiny. After all, "We know exactly what (s)he meant by that statement, don't we??"

4. So he lies about a pretty serious statement he makes.Typical of Fox opinionists...
Why should I believe anything that Tucker thinks? Sure, he got the PR exposure he wanted and now can get a little bit more by walking it back. But I wonder what this dickhead would think if some other opinionist on TV with a big audience had said, "I think Tucker Carlson ought to be executed because he wears bow ties." No big deal, right Tucker?

6. Well, I'm against the death penalty as a matter of principle...
... for any crime. But I do think that as part of Vick's punishment, he should have been made to stand in a pillory for three months, rain or shine, while his armed guards laughed as animal lovers pelted him with dog shit.
