... when they say something wrong?

In almost all cases, they are deliberately lying.

Call it what it is.

1. Some of them are acting like psychopaths with all their lies. Some of them are actually pawns
and are ignoring good information. That does make them stupid.

2. A valid point.
But most of their followers are, indeed, idiots for not understanding that their leaders are liars.

3. Then there's the genuine idiocy...
Case in point: Rick Santorum saying John McCain "doesn't understand how enhanced interrogation works."

There's the usual array of lies and damned lies, but this froth coming out of Santorum's mouth is powerful stupid.

4. Stupid idiots can't lie?
Why choose when you can have all of the above.

6. No. I know I'm in the minority here, but I've come to the conclusion that
the name-calling is hurting our cause rather than helping it.

It's fun, when you are mad at a group, to call them names. But think of how you react when you are called some insulting name - you stop listening.

If we want to talk to them about our ideas, if we want to show them what concerns us about the direction the Republicans have taken in recent decades as opposed to how things used to be, we need to reach out to them in a respectful tone as our fellow Americans and not only talk to them but listen to them as well. Have a real dialogue.

I don't like the terms "Repug" "Repuke" etc. at this point any more than the terms "Demonrats" and "Dirty Hippies."

These are our fellow Americans. If things get as bad as I fear they will in coming years, we will need to reach out to them and form a true community to face what lies ahead and help each other survive.
