or any other person or corporation or organization that has hijacked my religion.
I am tired of watching evil bastards sell God like stocks and bonds while promoting hate, violence, intolerance and contempt for the the less fortunate.

52. I consider it a historical record of a lot of people and places in the
past. It is also the record of a wondrous rabbi as seen through the eyes of a lot of people. Faith has nothing to do with this for me.

55. I largely agree. At it's best, it's a metaphor for the development of sentience.
I would state it's the {i]story of a magic rabbi as told through several characters' points of view.

It's as historical as a Doctorow novel. To say it's history is faith.

56. rapture is simply a term applied to the event(s)
and Thessalonians describes being 'caught up in the clouds'...sounds about like the 'rapture' that those people are talking about...

Do you believe Mary was assumed into heaven? Do you believe there was a Jesus who rose from the dead and ascended into heaven?

Just wondering where you draw the line.

24. My beliefs start with the 10 comandments and "do unto others...
as you would have them do unto you". I also believe that God created symbolism and metaphors, so I don't need everything to be so literal. I believe Jesus was the greatest liberal whoever lived. I believe the men how wrote the Bible were flawed and influenced by the times they lived in just like everyone else. I believe in Heaven and Hell - although I can not define either. I believe most religions are good and that people screw them up. I believe in free will.

38. there's a rather large church in Little Rock Arkansas that is quite
blatant about not help the needy. They put all of their money back into the church. They have a better lighting system than most theaters, a youth center with a climbing wall, gym, pool, rec room, computers, etc... valet parking, unbelievable AV equipment - it's their one little country club. and it's tax exempt, of course.

48. Similar story.
I went to Easter dinner at some religious relatives house.

They were talking about the new piano they "needed" at their church.

Not knowing, I asked asked what was wrong with the one they had.

"Nothing. The other church in town just got a new one so we need one too."

There are literally kids with no shoes here. But we need to replace a perfectly good piano with a new piano
to keep up with the Jones.

I have respect for those who practice what they preach and do not abuse what is supposed to be sacred. To me, the right wing treats the sacred like a patch you sew onto your denim jacket. They DO NOT represent the christian faith nor spirituality I have learned when I was too a Christian.

They were almost depressed when they woke every day and found they were still here. Seriously they were so disconnected because they were waiting for Jesus to come because the world was so evil... That was 10 years ago,I hope they finally gave up on that and decided to rejoin life while they wait

I think that is why there is a verse about blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

And why I think each person should decide what is inspired and what is not.
