IMF Chief Strauss-Kahn Charged With Attempted Rape in New York

May 15 (Bloomberg) -- Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the head of the International Monetary Fund and a potential candidate for the French presidency next year, was charged with attempted rape and a criminal sex act in New York, the police said today.

The charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred yesterday against a 32-year-old woman at a Sofitel hotel in midtown Manhattan, the New York Police Department said in an e- mailed statement early today. Strauss-Kahn was arrested on an Air France flight at John F. Kennedy airport, the police said. He also has been charged with unlawful imprisonment.

Strauss-Kahn, 62, will appear in a Manhattan court later today, New York Police Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne told BBC television in an interview. He will plead not guilty, Strauss- Kahn's lawyer Benjamin Brafman said, according to Reuters...

"For the fund, this is terrible news at a time when its leadership needs to portray stability, wisdom, and confidence," Bessma Momani, a professor in the department of political science at the University of Waterloo in Canada, who specializes in the IMF and its policies, said in an e-mail...

1. What do IMF lending levels have to do with that story?

C'mon, Bloomberg.

Now here's a paper with a nose for juicy details, and some of them might even be true:

Sounds like DSK was in a hurry to bolt the country.

2. He can afford to hire the best in the business.
Something is very wrong. It isn't the crime that threatens the IMF, it's the possibility that something is seriously wrong with his brain and nobody knows for how long his decisions have been unsound.

People at his level do not get picked up for this kind of crime. If it's a regular perversion, there would have been people whose job it was to make it go away. Nobody seems to have been prepared for this to happen which sounds like he hasn't done it before.

Which means something is terribly wrong with him.

6. Well, there's a well thought out statement.
62. Rich. Powerful. His people have people. Gets arrested for something with details that sound more like Charlie Sheen but no mention of substance abuse?

Rape is a serial crime. At this age, to START? And all you can come up with is the mental laziness of sneering "hubris"?

And if this wasn't the first time, where were the people whose job it would be to cover it up? Nothing and no one was there to protect him.

But I really appreciate your in-depth analysis.

4. The same Strauss-Kahn? An exerpt connecting his true position - in the Bilderberg Group
Edited on Sun May-15-11 08:47 AM by peacetalksforall
There is an interesting sentence from this site article:

"Strauss-Kahn seems almost in a panic too."

Here is and excerpt with url below:

"And convergence, of course, means one world.

Strauss-Kahn as head of the IMF has already stated that the IMF is working towards managing a single global economy rather than a loosely connected framework of sovereign national economies.

And today in a comment (i.e. demand) in the FT (where else?) Strauss-Kahn reiterates the Bilderberg lust for world control by proposing that the IMF coordinate the rewriting of banking legislation across sovereign national economies so that the multinational banks, you know the ones that caused the crisis in the first place, can operate under rules that allow them to loot and steal and transfer quadrillions in a split second without it upsetting the quasi-global economy.

Strauss-Kahn seems almost in a panic too.

Time is of the essence in reaching an international agreement lest political patience with regulatory conclaves runs out and we enter a cycle of unco-ordinated policy, distorted capital flows and regulatory arbitrage. The International Monetary Fund, for its part, will work to draw out the systemic and macroeconomic implications of financial sector reforms – and, if it and, if it comes to it, the implications of a failure to converge on a common solution."

SINGLE GLOBAL ECONOMY doesn't come JUST from him - it comes from the B Group and their dozens of affiliated organizations.
