can you imagine if a republican were president when bin laden was captured or killed?
there would have been endless parades, celebrations, ceremonies, and media circuses.

they would have been falling over themselves trying to pin medals on any one remotely associated with the mission.

there would have been non-stop coverage of how strong and what a great leader the republican president was.

they would have been predicting the demise of the democratic party.

they would have had interviews with triumphant republicans and dejected democrats.

they would have found a way to parade bin laden's head on a stick, one way or another, with a thousand american flags waving in the background.

instead, we have rather subdued media coverage.

very reluctant credit being given to the democratic president while they still try to find a way to give credit to republicans somehow.

the have interviews with republicans eager to take credit and democrats uneasy about killing any individual and uncomfortable with making the victory a "partisan" one.

they talk about it being a bad week for the donald, maybe, maybe even for the republican party, but that's it. one bad week, move along.

our media is a JOKE. pravda was more honest and informative. they at least had a code for getting the truth past the censors.

7. The republican president would personally land the space shuttle
and a banner saying "Mission Accomplished" would be branded into the moon, visible from space for all eternity.

8. The Bullhorn moment and the Congress singing on the steps of Capitol Hill.....
that's what happens, but only when disaster strikes......
all the while the Republican President is held up as having
one of his best moments. Republicans are rewarded for bad behavior,
while Democrats are punished for good behavior.

If it wasn't for 9/11, Bush would not have served a 2nd term....
and that folks is the irony in all of this.

9. We'd have a national holiday and a new President's Day.
George Washington would lose his place on the 1 dollar bill and the Global War on Terror would be officially over.

Frankly, I'm really surprised this didn't happen in the summer of 2008 when Bush was in the process of giving away a Trillion dollars to the financial industry. It would have been the perfect distraction and image rehab for Bush. Who knows? Maybe the Pakistani's double-crossed Bush/Cheney and never made the phone call, cluing them in on OBL's whereabouts.

11. They would've already started chiseling his image on Mt. Rushmore.
Instead, we get a never ending stream of Republicans and other politicos trying to save Bush's tattered legacy.

Where the Hell did the left biased media go?

12. No, our media is not a joke.
It is a direct threat to our democracy.

When the vast majority of media outlets are in the hands of a very few, there is no free flow of information upon which democracy depends.

ALL media empires should be broken up, and Murdoch should have his ass kicked all the way back to Australia.

14. That's just silly. No Republican wanted bin Laden dead. He was too useful.
They needed a boogie man to scare the living shit out of morons who would happily surrender their Constitutional rights in the name of "freedom".

17. interesting point, but it explains their failure to catch him, not their would-be reaction
to the military or anyone else having nailed him or him turning up dead for any other reason.

they might have privately said, damn, need another boogeyman, but publicly, they and the media would be jumping for joy.

21. I don't think that's all
I think that they knew where he was the whole time, I think that they are scared now because of all of the data that was found at the compound.

I think Pakistan was involved in hiding OBL in plain site.

25. It would be just another late Summer day
Except that in 2001 the Republicans would be raising a stink about the arrest of 15 Saudi citizens for "An implausible plan to hijack planes and crash them into buildings". There would have been months of stories about accusations that the Gore administration was framing these good men in a pathetic attempt to "Wag the Dog". If Al Gore had prevented 9/11 they would have tried to impeach him for it. If he had not prevented 9/11, they would have tried to impeach him for it. Even if there are an infinite number of alternate universes, the Republicans are a belfry-loads of bat-shit insane in every single one of them.
