NJ Gov Chris Christie will run only if he's drafted.

I heard this third-hand. It originated from a NJ state senator.

Chris Christie disclaims that he has any interest in running for president in 2012 on the republican ticket.

He is lying.

Christie's thinking that there will be underwhelming support for any particular candidate, leaving the nomination up to the convention. He believes that there will be enough delegates who will draft and nominate him at that time. He'll have his "Aw, shucks!" moment and yeah, he'll accept it.

Part of the strategy (if you want to call it that) is to let the other wannabe's raise and spend their donors' money until the convention. Christie won't even have an exploratory committee he'd have to pay for. He would just step into the black hole and then let the RNC pick up the tab.

And that explains his outrageous behavior and policies such as attacking teachers' unions and other public workers. He wants to get noticed outside the state.

2. Sadly, if he was drafted, he would have gone AWOL rather than serve in the military.
Useless POS.

7. Anyone who talks about drafts at the Convention isn't being serious...
...or isn't being rational. This is not the 1920's. A Party that hasn't resolved its candidate choice with only three months to go is doomed, and no candidate is going to want to be part of that catastrophe.

8. Republicans don't run from drafts - they weasel into college deferments or slither
into the Guard...
