Why did each and everyone of them defend torture??
It seemed like they had the entire Bush Administration on the news shows yesterday, except Bush himself. Rice, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Daughter Liz, CIA Hayden, Homeland Security Chertoff, and others. Each one of them made a point to defend waterboarding and torture as a way to get intelligence from prisoners. Why did they feel the need to go there?

Is it that their consciences are bothering them? Or are they afraid they may have to stand before a world court? Or are they simply afraid that the American people have already rendered a judgement?

With no proof, they said that the intelligence they got with torture led to the discovery and killing of Bin Laden. If that were true, then would not they have been able to find Bin Laden when they were in charge? If they had the intelligence, what stopped them?

But, in my opinion, they defined the Bush years in their defense of waterboarding and torture. The lawyers said they could do it? What more did they need? John Yoo said it was OK? That is about the weakest excuse I have ever heard. They are a despicable bunch of people.

1. They have no consciences, they don't care what US citizens think.
It's all about the legalities with this bunch. They skirted 'em, so they just want to reinforce the meme that torture works...gotta keep the Big Lie propped up.

2. How come the producers for all these shows booked all these BFEErs.
It seems as if all a Bush-supporter has to do is WANT to appear on TV unopposed and -- presto! -- there they are!

The producers of network news programs are largely a nest of wingnuts -- akin to the producers of Beck, Limbaugh, Malkin, et al. They do what they're told.

Moreso than the print media and even talk radio, these network TV producers (usually carrying out the will of their bosses) do more than any other group to control and direct the political discourse in this country. It is they who cause liberals to always be outnumbered and out-shouted on talking head programs. It is they who furnish phoney 'liberals' like Larry Sabato and Lynn Samuels to speak for the rest of us.

The MSM is our enemy and the main propagandists of the MSM are the network news producers. And that isn't by accident, either.

4. For the same reason that you'd probably defend freedom, or the Constitution
Aside from the legal factor (i.e. wanting to establish it as legal) I think they mentioned it because it is profoundly important to them and their world view. They love it, they delight in having it in the world, they want everyone to think about it more than they do. Why on earth would they NOT mention it?

5. It's basic CYA...
They know it's not over yet; they are still suspect and the hammer can come down at any time... on all of them.
